Here's a more kid friendly anime based on the bible from the 1980s called Superbook that was animated Tatsunoko that I'd recommend for young kids but in my research it can be enjoyed by both older kids & adults

Please note the 2011 remake is distinctly a western production by CBN (as they helped finance the 1980s show for Tatsunoko) so if you only want to watch the anime version stick to the 1980s version.

Thought I'd share an anime based on the bible called In The Beginning: The Bible Stories which I first saw ias part of Teen Bible Study years ago. It was made by Osamu Tezuka & Osamu Dezaki. If you've ever wanted an animated adaptation meant for a more mature audience I'd recommend this anime. I have opted for sharing the English dub so that way in case any of those who don't know Japanese can follow along. Please understand that if it seems weird it is because the scripts are a translated from Italian as it is a Japanese-Italian co-production (commisioned by an Italian TV network called RAI) then into Japanese. I am unsure as to whether the English dub was made from the Italian or Japanese but I know for certain the Japanese DVD set comes with the English dub included

which is good for collectors of Christian shows as the only official North American release is VHS tapes (which are quite rare)

Note: The VHS versions are slightly different than the DVD (if i remember correctly) as they have English Text on the Opening Song, Title Cards, & Ending Song.

Here is one of the most fascinating books outside the bible that I believe all Christians should read (or at least listen too) as it is regarded (by both Secular & Christian scholars) as the earliest beliefs of the church after the New Testament was written down.

Important notes:

1.) I am not behind the YouTube channel or even the recording of this audiobook

2.) Didache is a Greek word that means Teaching (& is used all through out the New Testament)

3.)The Didache depending on scholar dates it to either the late 1st Century A.D. or early 2nd Century A.D. so it predates both Catholicism & Orthodoxy

4.) Ante comes from Latin meaning Before & is NOT to be confused with the term Anti is Greek & means Against

6.) Nicene refers to the city of Nicaea (in present day Turkey) where Christian Bishops from met in 325 A.D. to talk about what they believed about God

6.) Logos is Greek for Word & is used in the intro of John's Gospel to refer to our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ

7.) Maranatha is Aramaic (not to confused with Arabic or Amharic (which is an Ethiopian language used by many of those in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church)) that depending on how it is pronounced can mean 2 differing phrases:

7A.) Come, O Lord

7B.) Our Lord Has Come

8.) I simply chose this audiobook edition as it is the only version I could find that was a Modern English translation & allows you to read along.

Saint George The Hero (1989)

This film is one of my favourite non-English Christian films.

It is in Arabic because it is produced by the Coptic (a.k.a. Egyptian) Orthodox Church but I made sure to track down a copy with English subtitles for those who want to watch but aren't fluent in Arabic

P.S. If the subtitles say Guirgius is an Anglicization of the Arabization of the Greek name Georgios
