I’m pretty sure there’s only like 3 people left in the world who still likes them but oh well. Fuck it, we ball.

“Brief” History of Beanie Boos under the cut:
In June of 2009, the company TY made Beanie Boos because Beanie Babies had recently retired and sales were down. They came out with 6 Beanie Boos (known as “The Originals”): Slush the Husky, Coconut the Monkey, Kooky the Koala, Kiwi the Frog, Bamboo the Panda, and Peanut the Elephant. They all had matte eyes and purple tags. The only thing inside of their tags at the time were the Beanies’ names, and a short statement about their character. (Examp: “Bamboo. ‘Always Hungry!’ ”)
Peanut the Elephant (aka Original Peanut) is the rarest Beanie Boo, being the first one EVER to retire just 2 months after his release. He is very hard to find online, and when you do, he usually goes for A TON of money.
I’m 2012, the store Justice had exclusive beanie boos, who also so happened to be the very first beanie boos with Sparkly eyes! Their names were “Treasure the unicorn” and “Sapphire the Zebra” these Beanies are also quite rare and can go for a lot on EBay.
Around 2013, TY did a re-brand of all their Beanie Boos to give them the same sparkly eyes that the Justice Exclusives had, and a brand-new Red Tag! Their tags also now include poems and birthdays. (That last part could’ve been added earlier, maybe 2012 or 2011)
By now, Beanie Boos with purple tags and/or solid/matte eyes are considered rare. Other rare Beanie Boos may also include: Retired beanie boos, and beanie boos exclusive to places.

I got this diva a long time ago and fell in love with her long, stripy tail! (Probably why I like raccoon tail streaks now /silly /j.) I had previously re-named her “Tails” (like from Sonic!!)
I didn’t know until today that she was (technically) a girl! (Disclaimer: Beanie Boos can have any or no gender if you want since they’re just plush toys, but TY does tend to have “canonical” genders for some beanies. At the end of the day, it’s all about fun so it doesn’t really matter either way.)
LeeAnn came out on January 1st, 2017! She has a red swing/heart tag ^-^
Her birthday is December 5th, and her poem reads:
“I like to play with my brother who's older, We roll on the snow hills when it gets colder!”
Since today is Transgender Visibility Day, I decided to make this week’s Bbotw my two trans twins, Fiona (trans-female) (on the left) and Finn (trans-male) (on the right) !! When I first got Fiona, I realized she was the colors of the trans flag so I’d thought it’d be fun if she was trans-fem to “match”! ^-^ Then a few years later when a friend gave me her old Fiona Beanie, I decided he would be Trans-male and re-named Finn! I like to imagine they’re the Beanie Boo version of that one meme of the two twins who both transition to only end up looking like how the other did pre-transition. /pos
Fiona (/Finn) came out on July 1st, 2014 as a Justice exclusive! They have a red swing/heart tag ^-^
Their birthday is August 31st, and their poem reads:
“I chased a mouse down from the willow, then he crawled under my pillow!”
Fiona is retired.
Additional Fact: There is another Beanie Boo cat of the same name! She is mostly light pink and sports a sliver necklace!
Everyday I forget how much I love beanie boos until I do beanie boo of the week and am giddy for the rest of the day/night bc I got to indulge I my special interest! ^-^

I’ve had this very much well-loved beanie boo since I was probably around 6 but I’m not 100% sure. I re-names her Blossom and I legit forgot that wasn’t her real name until now 💀 I used to make home movies/shows with my beanie boos and I had one called “Cousins” where Sophie was the stereotypical bratty rich girl fashionista character (very Disney Channel), and I would put American girl doll skirts and bows on her! ^-^
Sophie came out on July 1st, 2015 as a Walgreens + Rite Aid exclusive! She has a red swing/heart tag ^-^
Her birthday is January 13, and her poem reads:
“Meow is what I mostly say, In the yard is where I play!”
i currently only have a few beanie boos, being Darby the dragon (as a Teeny Ty, but close enough), Anora the dragon, Heather the unicorn cat, and Iris the great wolf lodge exclusive purple wolf (though i renamed him Eclipse), Iris/Eclipse is my current fav of the ones i have :3 what are ur opinions on my beanie boos?

I have two Heathers, bc like a lot of years ago I lost ine annd couldn’t find her ANYWHERE in my house so I just got a second one to replace her. And then fast forward like 2 years later we’re cleaning out my attic and we find my old heather plush! So now I have two ^-^ lwk want a third so it can be an Heathers (movie or musical) ref.
I was like OBSESSED with the great wolf lodge beanies when I was younger like I wanted them so bad. I never got any, but hopefully one day I will bc they’re so cool 🙏🙏🙏

I LOVE ANORA’S COLOR PATTERN!!!! I’m not normally a big fan of the dragons, but Anora looks so cool, if I ever find her in the wild (like at a store or thrift shop) I’d def pick her up
The sheets are fire asf! One of my friends has a spider-man themed bedroom and we like joking that she has the bedroom of a 10-year-old boy. But like in a good way

In an ask I got today I got from @lucs-madness I told a story about my Heathers (which inspired me to make her BBOTW) that will copy-paste here: I have two Heathers, bc like a lot of years ago I lost ine annd couldn’t find her ANYWHERE in my house so I just got a second one to replace her. And then fast forward like 2 years later we’re cleaning out my attic and we find my old heather plush!
Heather came out on June 1st, 2018 and she has a red swing/heart tag ^-^
Her birthday is April 26th, and her poem reads:
“I was a cat when I was born, then I magically grew a horn, l know that this is not the norm, but now l am a unicorn!”
Additional fact: There are two variants of Heather: One with her horn, and one without. I did not know about this second version until today! Her variant poem reads:
“With one eye gold, the other blue, they twinkle when I look at you, I'm the prettiest cat you'll find, with pastel colors all combined!”

Beanie Boo of The Week (Bbotw) #7: Sydney the Leopard!
I have oddly specific memories about buying Sydney. I bought her off of eBay for $15 from somewhere that was like pretty close to my location (like an hour away or maybe a town or two away? Very close.) and I remember her smelling REALLY good after I took her out of the package. Unfortunately, she has lost her scent. (Though in general I have gotten many nice-smelling beanie boos from eBay lmao)
Sydney came out on September 1st, 2015 as a Claire’s exclusive! She has a red swing/heart tag ^-^
Her birthday is November 27th, and her poem reads:
"I am happy all the time, If I have a tree to climb!”
(note: I did forget to do Bbotw last week, so to make up for it I’m doing two this week! ^-^)
I got North a few years at a yard sale and his undeniable charm led 10 or 11-year-old me to have him star in one of my beanie boo shows I made! (I made a lot of home movies with my beanie boos when I was younger)
North came out on July 1st, 2014! He has a red swing/heart tag ^-^
His birthday is January 4th, and his poem reads:
“Skating the ice or play in the snow, Watch how fast I really go!”

My favorite is Phoenix the fennec fox!!!!!! I've had him for so long. I have three, but the one with the red bracelet collar is my favorite (I had him the longest)
Today I have both the solid eye and sparkle eyed version of Slush! He originally came out in June of 2009 as one of the very first beanie boos! (Not pictured.) In 2012-2013 when beanie boos got rebranded, Slush acquired his sparkle eyes ^-^
He’s had both a red and purple swing/heart tag depending on the year ^-^
His birthday is April 30th and his poem reads:
Gen 1 (2009): “Snow Wonder!”
Current: "Through wind or sleet or rain or snow, I’ll take you where you want to go!"
Dart, or Bat Boo as my 7-year-old self named him, is my favorite of the bat and possibly Halloween beanies! I’ve loved him ever since I got him for my birthday 9 years ago.

His birthday is October 18th and his poem reads:
“Sometimes I can act a little batty, When I eat a peppermint patty!”
