At a certain point I genuinely don’t know how to keep going, like there is genuinely NOTHING we can do is there, like how can I see shit like this and just… keep going, every fucking day it’s just more and more shit showing how the Earth is probably never going to recover from humanity, and then nothing will change because the only ones who care can’t do Jack shit.

I just really don’t know to keep going in a world that will end probably before I do

One reason why bigots are always so annoying to deal with (besides the obvious) is that they’re always so bloody pessimistic about everything, like they need so much convincing to believe that anyone is telling the truth outside of their little circles. Like I told a guy that I don’t like the word “woke” because by many people’s definition my existence would be considered woke (I was out to this guy as queer but not trans) and he just outright refused to believe me, and this shit happens all the time to anyone who isn’t a white-cis-het man.

At this point saying “I don’t care about politics” is essentially a dog whistle, like you only see that phrase coming out of someone’s mouth if they’re embarrassed about being a Tory, or if they’re genuinely trying to hide their political beliefs.

What confuses me about a-lot of the “I’m not transphobic but” people that I’ve met is that they always talk about “kids forcing themselves into these rigid boxes to label themselves” when quite literally that only happens in the two gender binary system that they so desperately want to be real, like they can’t grasp that we just use labels as shorthand to explain our experiences and find people who have gone through similar things to us because as cishet people they’ve always been able to find community so much more easily than we have

I really hate the false dichotomy of activism that some people try to enforce, “oh you care about trans rights why aren’t we talking about bigger issues like discrimination against immigrants and war”, like we can do both. You know that right? ‘Both’ is an option. People in power just like to pretend that they don’t have said power.

Honestly sometimes I just feel sorry for bigots, like it must be hell to have such a narrow mindset, like how can they stand bending themselves over backwards just to stay within ‘the norm’. It’s honestly just depressing when you talk to someone like that and hearing how TERRIFIED they are to be perceived as abnormal in any setting. Kinda pathetic really.
