I’m culturally female. I don’t really believe in one true gender, but I do participate in some of the rituals I was raised in, when I feel like it. And I enjoy participating in the traditions of other genders too sometimes.
I’m only female on Christmas and Easter, for my parents.

F r it would be so amazing!! Im kinda imagining it like it's the Gang playing DnD, with Gobber as DM (you can't tell me he wouldn't, that man put on a whole fanfiction as a peagant lmao) and they just go through these crazy adventures that don't make sense 90% of the time
Hiccup tries to play like a normal person but eventually just says "fuck it" and goes batshit crazy with the rest cuz it's been a long session and he's having fun
Astrid still keeping to the rules!! She and Fishlegs would have the rulebooks laying between them and while Fishy (who just plays calmly and peacefully except when his little companion Meatlug is being threatened) gently nudges the rest into the right direction, Astrid is being that teethgritting perfectionist wanting to have the best experience and the best battle tactics and i love it
The twins going ballistic from the get go!! They would fuck around sm and go the craziest routes. Gobber would get so annoyed because they just. Don't stick to his plot lmao ( the DM of the campaign i was in, aka one of my best friends (looking at you @lightlunara <3) has mentioned smt about carefully plotting a campaign and then having to watch the players fuck the plot up for their own shits and giggles and I felt so sad for her)
Snotlout would just want all the weapons. The best weapons. The goodest weapons. He has money? Either spends it on clothes or weapons. Do we even need food? Argues with Fishy and Astrid a lot cuz "cmon don't you know the word fun? Let it go!". He would get so into the game and maybe even DM the next campaign? That would be so cute. He would also totally introduce it to the kiddos of Berk and later teach Zephyr and Nuffink how to play cuz he feels like they need to know

Snotlout and the twins would TOTALLY try to do things that just aren't possible with the mechanics and then get mad abt it (also I feel like all of them could plausibly be that one player who spams fireball when they play a wizards)
I have been in exactly one (1) campaign (cause I have no friends who wanna play with me) and I was the dm and NO ONE FOLLOWED THE PLOT and it was INFURIATING and I had to basically scrap half of the campaign in the first session. I feel Gobber's pain so much.

Ngl I considered making them all Drakewarden Ranger multiclasses but where would the fun be in that?
Hiccup: Drakewarden Ranger/Battlesmith Artificer Multiclass
Drakewarden for obvious reasons. They get a drake (which isn't technically a true dragon but it does fall under dragons) which are essentially pets. Artificer because Hiccup is constantly creating and I feel this class fits him pretty well. Struggled with the subclass a bit but I'm fairly confident in my choice
Astrid: Battle Master Fighter
Are Fighters considered basic? Yes, but don't let that hold you back. The Battle Master studies EVERYTHING involved in battle, from theory to practical and everything in between. I think it fits Astrid well because of her warrior nature, i actually considered making her a Champion Fighter but decided that this subclass fit her slightly better. Hiccup makes her weapons :)
Fishlegs: Scribe Wizard/Drakewarden Ranger multiclass
Tbh, this one is in the same boat as the twins. Wizards love learning abt their specific subject. Scribes are the most bookish of all Wizards and make great use of their spellbook. Drakewarden Ranger because he was arguably the most obsessed with dragons before Hiccup. Also I want them to bond over their Drakes
Snotlout: Dwarf Glamour Bard
"But Quinn, no one else has a race yet, why does Snotlout have one?" because I have a better grasp on what I imagine his backstory would be than the rest of them. Also I think having a Dwarf Bard is cool. He's a college of Glamour bard because he's canonically a good writer and singer, which also implies he's good with words which these bards definitely are.
Ruffnut & Tuffnut: Trickery Domain Clerics
Are multiple clerics of the same subclass redundant? Yes. But I'm doing which classes I think they'd be I'm not building a balanced party. They'd be pretty similar to Canon, and would also follow Loki. Basically nothing changes except they now have magic and makes it everyone else's problem.
Arnora (my oc): Tiefling Spore Druid
If my url and pfp didn't make it obvious, I love Tieflings. That is the main reason Arnora is a tiefling, along with the fact that I love the idea of her and Dwarf!Snotlout dancing together. The spore Druid is the closest I could get to healer (that I felt fit Arnora) without making her a life Cleric.

not to be a fucking boomer but holy motherfuck i’m so tired of young queers on social media having temper tantrums about flags and words and fanfiction and just shit no one gives a fuck about in real life.
here’s a list of things i’ve encountered in irl queer spaces that no one batted an eye about that i have seen nuclear level freak-outs about on tumblr:
- trans man calling himself a lesbian
- trans man calling himself a femboy
- lesbian being married to a trans man
- trans man and trans woman calmly and respectfully talking about reproductive transphobia (me and my voice teacher who i adore)
- gay men in puppy masks simply existing
- trans woman not doing voice training/feminization because she likes her voice the way it is and somehow not “tRiGgErInG” the women around her with her scary deep Male VoiceTM
- queer people saying slurs in normal speech when we talk about history or community or for self identification
- talking about how cishets are shitty to us no matter how we identify and not policing other people’s language when they talk about their personal experiences
i am far from the first person to say this but oh my god go outside. meet other queer and trans people in person at queer events. if you can’t do that, see if there are any streaming events you can attend. but just get off social media. stop thinking of the queer community as this nebulous online thing with rules and regulations created by and for white tumblr teens. it’s a real living breathing group of people that has infinitely varied experiences that a 20 yr old white tumblr user will never be able to succinctly boil down into a one liner. definitions mean nothing. stomping ur feet on tumblr bc u saw a trans man use a word u don’t like or a trans woman like a thing u think is gross and bad is stupid and u should not do it. grow up and go do something fun.
hey, my kurdish friend wanted to point out that the iranian woman murdered by the police in tehran was a kurd and her kurdish name was jîna emînî. she has mostly been referred to as mahsa amini, the iranian version of her name, in the media & that can ofc still be used to make sure posts about her reach a mainstream audience. however people should make sure to mention her given kurdish name foremost, as well as highlight the fact that she was a kurd in the first place, because that played a part in her facing the violence that she did.

Dahlia is 7 years old

Dahlia looked at the baby dragon her dad was holding. It was a Monstrous Nightmare, one of Hookfang's offspring, and it was absolutely adorable.
Snotlout, noticing his daughter's stare, smiled at her and kneeled down to her level, presenting the small dragon to her. Her eyes lit up as they darted from her father's face to the Nightmare, who was now studying the girl curiously.
As soon as Snotlout nodded his head the hatchling was in the arms of the excited young girl. He stood back up and looked on as Dahlia and the dragon stared at eachother with curiosity and caution behind both sets of eyes.
The staring contest lasted for a few seconds before the Monstrous Nightmare let out a happy chirp and snuggled closely to the girl. Dahlia giggled and held the dragon even closer, if that were possible, and sat down on a bench in the Mead Hall so she wouldn't disturb it too much, setting the baby down on her lap.
Upon closer inspection, Dahlia noticed that this hatchling's horns were shorter than the other Monstrous Nightmare baby's horns (and she should know, every Snoggletog she practically studies Hookfang's offspring, to the point where she could almost perfectly draw them out of memory). She looked back at where her father stood, now joined by Arnora in observing their daughter, and signed to her parents
"Shorthorn."

So this is a nothing drabble I wrote on a piece of paper.
Fun fact, Dahlia gets her dragon before her brother does! Stormlout only gets his dragon at 13, cause it was always hard for him to bond with any dragon. (unrelated anyone got any ideas for wha kind of dragon he should have? Anything but a monstrous nightmare I'm suffering)
