if luke had had even half of rachel’s willpower or annabeth’s determination camp half blood would have been a changed place but his aim was too wide. unfocused and messy. that’s what happens when your primary drive is blinding rage. he was clever but he dove in headfirst and his conviction was born of obstinance rather than logic.

not gonna lie everytime I feel bad for Luke I remember that scene from the Titan’s Curse where he tricks Annabeth into taking on the weight of the sky for him and as she’s begging him to come back and help her he says “try not to die” and I’m like “hmm, on second thought, he can choke”

PERHAPS I’m drinking and recognize this entire idea is impractical, but I’m lost on the thought of how fucking cool it would have been if we had gotten a Roman camp series set during the titan war timeline, releasing at the same time as the original pjo books…only we had absolutely no idea the two were supposed to be in the same universe. No obvious hints or anything. both series ended within the same year and no one suspected a thing until Lost Hero comes out and suddenly Annabeth is cornering Jason at the grand canyon….I would have lost my GOD DAMN MIND…..

do you think the older campers were super protective of annabeth? 

like sure all of them have their own stories about troubled childhoods and neglectful parents and dangerous journeys to camp but when she’s introduced in tlt it seems like the fact that annabeth’s been there since she was seven is remarkable - enough that she is the head counsellor of the athena cabin even though she’s 11 at the time, because she’s been there the longest

so what do the older campers like silena & charlie (idk the ages of everyone else) think when grover returns to camp, a new tree has just grown on Half-Blood Hill over the body of a daughter of zeus that sacrificed herself, and he’s got this fourteen (?) year old son of hermes and a seven year old girl with him? are they in awe? are they devastated? do they make a special effort to look out for her? 

and what about annabeth: does she trust them immediately? is she hesistant to call this new place home? does she think their kindness towards her is suspicious? does it all seem too good to be true? obviously by the time she’s 11 and percy arrives she feels settled there but also - does she? does she ever really let herself feel at home there? does she make friends and make herself comfortable but always stay ready for the moment when her world is ripped out from under her again? at what point does she let her fears go and decide that camp half-blood is there to stay?

I haven’t read a series in quite a long time where I had such a clear, distinct vision of what each and every character looked like. After finishing through PJO earlier this year, I slowly started sketching out everyone I could and editing along the way in order to get them to look as closely as possible to what was in my head. I wasn’t able to cover every single character that’s mentioned, but I’m still really proud of this set! I can’t wait to use it as a reference for more PJO art going forward.
