Giving PJO and HOO characters alternate godly parents

so i’ve seen the kind of thing done in the hp fandom where harry’s slytherin, hermiones raven claw, etc. so it got me thinking, obviously non of this would make sense plot wise but i just thought it’d be a fun so let’s gooo

first off we have annabeth who id put with aphrodite and here’s why; annabeths a lot more in tune with her emotions, especially love, than people give her credit for. she’s very openly affectionate and supportive of here friends and has told percy she’s loves him multiple times in the series. PLUS she’s ‘seriously beautiful’

next frank was pretty easy- putting him as the child of apollo he’d wanted to be due to his skills in archery and i just feel like he’d make a really good apollo kid at campfire signing or helping with injured campers

now for hazel i’d actually see her as a daughter of posiedon for a couple reasons; first of her immediate and very strong with arion as poseidon’s god of horses, also her self sacrifice back in the 40’s felt very posiedon-esque to me as it’s the same kind of martyrdom we’d expect to see from percy.

i don’t know why but leo just gives me hermes energy, it might be the kind of non stop moving slash working that we see from the both of them or maybe it’s just the mischievous charm they both radiate but either way that’s how i see it

moving on to jason he seriously strikes me as a child of athena sometimes, a calm, confident reader who’s always got some sort of plan (if he stays awake long enough to execute it) working through strategies and figuring out the best plan of action

now piper being a child of dionysus is less for any particular attributes she demonstrates that remind me of him and more because i have a head cannon where her singing, in true siren style, can drive men mad and with dionysus as god of madness that’s where i drew the connection

nico was a tricky one but i eventually pinned him as a child of zeus for a few reasons mainly, i find his temper some what zeus-esque and his fatal flaw of grudges also reminds me of zeus and his pettiness. furthermore i believe that when given the opportunity nico can be a great leader like when leading the dead to battle in various books

finally percy was by FAR the hardest because he could be so many but i think percy as a child of ares has got to be my favourite because ares’ main attribute are strength and power and percy is the most powerful demigod we encounter, also percy is a damn good solider- fitting for a child of war. also also dark percy’s blood lust is a very ares like quality not to mention his temper

like sorry hoes, but percy would end up in slythern freaking house. i used to be on the gryffindor train but honestly percy wins most of his battles by outsmarting his enemies and slytherin and gryffindor are houses that value loyalty and fraternity CANONICALLY.

percy does not give a rat’s shite about you if you’re not his friend. will he help you? yes. but does he feel a moral tug in his soul to? no.

he has one (1) trait for hufflepuff (that is shared with 2 other houses MAY I REMIND YOU) and all of a sudden yall are putting him the the badger house (no hate btw)

percy has loyalty, but he will not forgive you. he doesn’t value kindness or forgiveness (because YOU NEED TO VALUE THOSE THINGS TOO TO BE IN HUFFLEPUFF), heck, he doesn’t even value hard work (he works hard, but it’s not a trait he will say is in his top 5)

therefore, that ties him in with gryffindor or slytherin.

you could totally argue that he’s a gryffindor in PJO, but his character development does move him from gryffindor to slytherin.

the existence of dark!percy with his talent for manipulation and cunning does place him in slytherin.

literally you could say he’s a slytherin in PJO! he has ALWAYS won battles by outsmarting his enemy. he has ALWAYS had a skill for reading people quickly. he is too good at reading the room, at scanning people for their strengths and weaknesses, and then at using them in his favor.

Right so i have these head cannons for the languages the Argo II members can speak, some are actually cannon and some are just what i’m feeling:

Piper - we know piper can speak french from being a child of aphrodite and i imagine her greek would be okay but not great from not being at camp super long

Jason - jason’s greek is probably just a little worse than pipers with him being hardwired for latin, with that being said his latin is the best, like completely fluent, from learning it since he was 2

Frank - we know from the book that frank knows some chinese (i can’t remember if it cantonese or mandarin) and i imagine he probably knows a little latin but not loads because he wasn’t at camp jupiter long, but i also have this hc that he speaks some french from living in canada

Hazel - i also hc that hazel would know some french from growing up in the french quarter and her latin would be a little better than franks but not as good as jason’s

Leo - i think leos greek would be similar to pipers, with them both knowing another romance language prior to learning it. speaking of leo’s spanish, i imagine he’s lost some of his accent from all the foster homes but he’s still pretty fluent

Annabeth - similar to jason annabeth would have the best greek out of all of them and be pretty much fluent but she wouldn’t know any other languages because i doubt camp hb is teaching them anything other than greek so she gets jason to teach her some latin and she, in return, helps with his greek

Nico - now we know nico still speaks italian but when it come to greek and latin i think his would be the worst with constantly moving between the two camps so i doubt he would have any lessons, they’d probably be equally bad with him being hardwired for greek but also already speaking a romance language

Percy - this is where the biggest hc comes in, i think percy would speak italian, from having picked it up from gabe. it’s not quite as fluent as nicos but it’s still pretty good so they can converse in it and i think his greek would be similar to pipers and leo’s based on the time he’s spent there and his latin would be similar to hazels - okay but not great from already knowing a romance language.

mortal AUs are fun and it's okay for them to be perfectly normal and not at all extraordinary, but sometimes i think about the potential of a mortal AU where sally still murders gabe. what happens when percy comes home from skateboarding his summer break away, his mom is standing over gabe's prone form, and the first thing out of percy's mouth is, "you have to bury the body upright so it's harder to find, i saw it on ID once, it's a lot of digging but i'll help! uh. congratulations, and, er, thanks." i can't help but imagine that, behind the scenes of every aggressively normal college AU i read, way back in the past, percy and sally spent a tearful night bonding over burying their abuser in a forest somewhere. it could be the most ordinary possible fic and i am still at the baseline assumption that a murder happened, clearly.
