I remember in elementary school when everybody was talking about crushes and stuff, so naturally I wanted to fit in and came up with an obligatory crush. I remember this boy in our grade. We weren't friends, but we tolerated each other enough to have up to 5 minutes of conversation at least twice a week if we happen to see each other. And I remember telling my best friend at the time that I had a crush on this boy because she put me on the spot and asked who my crush was and I panicked and said his name. Within the school day, she turned around and told not only him but everyone in the grade that I had a crush on him.

I don't remember being uncomfortable with this information getting out. I do remember telling him that it was a lie and that I didn't actually have a crush on him or anyone. It didn't change my interactions with literally anybody except for my best friend at the time. She started bullying me, I told our teacher, and we haven't talked to each other since
