The myth (?) of the Oasis + Maradona coked up orgy in Buenos Aires, 1998

In light of Oasis coming back to Argentina in a week, have the story of how in 1998 Maradona invited Liam and Noel to a "party" and ended up undressing them, told by Cristian Castro, who was hosting the party in his hotel room lmao (w/subtitles by yours truly)

Cristian Castro is a mexican singer, one of the best selling latin american artists of all time, and like most musicians, back in the day he was known for having parties, drugs, women etc. He's been living in Argentina for years now and he was friends with Diego Maradona. Since Diego was technically in house arrest at the time he couldn't actually rent a hotel room so that's why he was staying in Cristian's.

The interesting bit is that his story matches most of the brothers' versions except for the part that it was Diego's room (it wasn't, but they wouldn't know) and they said they left early while Cristian says they stayed and it all went, well. What's funny is that most people here in Argentina believe Cristian Castro bc he usually doesn't have a filter for these things and always ends up airing people's dirty laundry on accident lmao. But that's the mystery of the coked up orgy in Buenos Aires during the BHN tour.

i might just be amped up/pissed off but their support of rapists and abusers often feels more than just selfish to me (i.e. who cares what type of person this man is/what they do privately, i want to enjoy their talents separately from that/they are my friend/brother, etc). it feels actively vindictive and stubborn and indulgently hateful of women. they don't just not care about the dignity of women, they're resentful of the idea of it bc of how much they've sucked ass at having relationships with women and then had to literally pay for it. and it disgusts me.

Being a fan of a male artist is a deeply disappointing experience. No matter how much their work resonates with us, inspires us, and uplifts us, at the end of the day they don’t see us as equal to them. It’s hard to accept that they don’t relate to us the same way we relate to them. When I listen to my favorite songs by these artists, I’m reminded that they are thinking, feeling people just like me. It’s sad that they reserve their sense of humanity only for other men.
