Hi....I don’t think this will become big or anything but I have a lot of thoughts in my brain that I need to share?? So, if you enjoy absolute stupidity and nonsense: Welcome, you’ve found the place for you. I won’t consistently post as I will forget to and if I do post...good job me! Anyway, I will say that I’m a minor so please, be nice to me.... that’s it.
Since I’m on the topic of movies I’d like to bring to light a movie I religiously watch every month like a ritual. Monster in Paris (2011) is a stupidly good movie for the main character (I think) being a FLEA. Why did they make a flea attractive?? Maybe they didn’t and I’m delusional…delulu if you will. I mean I seriously think Lucille should’ve ended up with the flea instead of Rauol; I actually didn’t think Raoul particularly deserve to be the romantic interest considering Lucille doesn’t express any signs of romantic feelings for him until the end of the movie in comparison to the obvious chemistry she had with Francoeur. Besides, if they had ended up together I could’ve at least lived vicariously through her…but alas!! Also Maud and Emile were the best couple of all cinematic history, sorry Twilight fans. I love this movie so I recommend. Also, the songs are delicious, believe me.
I remember how I would watch Anastasia (1997) and wait for the Once Upon A December song scene because of the ghosts and dancing. The song on it’s own is gorgeous as well and I know the lyrics by heart. This all made me think about how they should make a live-action because of how fascinating that scene would look. Clearly, live-actions have sort of a bad reputation in (mainly) Disney and other companies, but I could see this moment and cry real baby tears. I see it exactly as the movie, but, dark lighting and for the ghosts lots of shine/sparkle; I don’t mean a loud shine though, it’d be more like reflective shine like water sparkling from the sunshine. Another thing I love from that scene is when she’s twirling and the song is rising or near its climax; this part really emphasizes her desperation and frustration at knowing that there are memories she wants to remember but can’t. Also, her family dancing with her and her father’s kiss on her forehead made me feel so sad watching knowing they never really got to say goodbye. I don’t know I think i’d be cool if they made it.
Edit: I searched up ‘Anastasia Live-action’ and I’ll be damned. There is one; it’s not out yet I think, but hopefully we’ll see it soon. It’s from Disney so I’m gonna have to hope for the best. I just pray they cast Russian actors that look like the characters…maybe it’d be controversial due to what’s happening with Russia right now but I guess we’ll see how this goes. Anyway here’s the link to the trailer for anyone who wants to see it and let’s manifest that Dimitri is also hot in this movie.
So…this blog turned 2 years old 23 days ago on June 30th so… congrats to us and our weird space here on this app/website. I hope to reach a lot of random people who like strange things like me. Anyways, that’s it…
I went to watch it yesterday and was I completely surprised. Based on the mugshot meme I thought it was going to be this cheesy, stupid comedy…and it was; but, the way it was wasn’t what I imagined. It was even better. The theme was great and the casting was amazing.
I personally liked that Barbie wasn’t in love with Ken even though he was in love with her. Also, them realizing that they are individual people and not just Kens and Barbies was beautiful. The ending was funny because I thought she was going to get a job or something but she was just going to the gynecologist (个𝚘个) and it reminded me of the scene where they say they don’t have genitals. It was a really good movie and would recommend to everyone!!
☆can you guys tell I can’t draw (´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥`) anyway I guess I drew this just for fun…I honestly love smart yellow guy (SYG) and have a special place in my heart for both YGs (I know there’s a charged batteries AU i think and I love that concept)☆
No because the ‘I like looking at you’ scene is so MEANINGFUL.
It’s because every single thing in their world is absolutely horrifying to look at. Things are either too bright, too creepy, too claustrophobic etc etc. Every object they look at even has an odd chance to come alive (such as the mirror) and basically torture them. Even the trio themselves get their looks distorted in some lessons.
So for both Duck and Red Guy to turn to one another and admit they actually like looking at eachother. That is so special. It’s their way of expressing how safe they feel with one another, because despite their world being entirely designed to scare them, they find comfort in the sight of the other. Of all things.
Duck, the who always believes he’s the “best one” out of the trio, actually for the first time, doubts his worth. After all, Red Guy is very shy when it comes to expressing strong positive emotions. He insists he’s not Duck’s best friend, openly criticises him on his interests, as well as argues over quite meaningless things such as who’s the father figure. He does not want to admit he has these feelings or actually likes someone in the world he wants so desperately to escape from, which is evident in how he looks away when expressing these feelings to Duck. He’s shy, but this action alone is a signal to Duck that he can safely be open about his feelings too, and he’s quick to admit the sentiment is shared.
Duck’s ‘Really? You like looking at me?” paired with Red’s ‘Oh yeah?’ Shows how truly nervous they both are, and it’s so sweet. I could ramble all day about this scene basically.
I want to re-watch Coraline after seeing the many theories about it. I really agree with the theory that she never left the other world. I wonder if they’d ever consider making a sequel that shows what happens after they threw the key into the hole or a prequel that shows Coraline’s life before moving. That’d be crazy either way.
The Suicide of Rachel Foster is an absurd game and I’m honestly always been disturbed by the story that the developers created. Who actually copied and pasted Lolita (Nabokov 1955) into a game and thought, “This is ART”. I will admit I bought it before knowing what it truly was; I was intrigued over the title, and when reading the description the form of writing is quite misleading, so I assumed it would be mysterious and jaw-dropping.
Afterwards, even though I hadn’t yet played, I stumbled upon a [video essay] that dissected the game and why it was absolute trash. I realized the poor wording used for the promotion was extremally misleading as the story-line doesn’t have to do with an affair at all. The game revolves around a girl who’s father clearly had relations with a minor, which is said, led to her suicide, and the protagonist ignores her father’s pedophilic behavior and excuses his actions. I hate the way the game is inconsistent as well; I mean, so many plot holes are made by the writers that conflict with the dismissal of pedophilia.
The game is meant to be a murder mystery disguised as a suicide, so the “15-year-old-is-violated-by-a-50-year-old” theme is completely ignored by all involved. It’s incredibly stupid like really. It’s so sad to know what happened to Rachel and yet she gets no justice, revenge, or acknowledgement that lasts whatsoever. The game starts, continues, and ends with few mentions of the reality of the events and how they affected Rachel. Everyone’s feelings are expressed be it by themselves or a third party, but expressed nonetheless; except for Rachel’s.
Rachel’s perspective, feelings, and thoughts are never truly shared by anyone, not even her brother. Nicole constantly talks about her feelings, and somewhat her mother’s. Her father eventually has this “heartwarming” recording near the end of the game, and Irving shares his opinion as well on his sister’s “relationship”. No one even thinks remotely of Rachel or her point of view. It’s sickening.
I don’t think I have the kind of time to build a true essay on why I despise this game so much, but I can assure that my feelings are quite mirrored by the video linked, so I’d recommend watching it even if you know the game or not since it’s really not worth playing.
Just watched a [video] about Moral Orel and it was an absolute masterpiece in dissecting the entire series. I loved the way Meromorphic interprets the series and the meanings behind each episode and it’s honestly accurate to what I had also concluded when I first started watching it. The deep insight into each character that is relevant to Orel’s character development, even slightly, is thorough and I was so amazed by it. Also the analysis of how episodes of season 3 correlate with the camping episode was outstanding.
I mean it's always been something that I've questioned. Don't Hug Me I'm Scared seems to imply a comment/conversation between two people....idk (ಥ _ ಥ) I once watched a video that "explained" that the title signifies how the teachers frighten the main characters but they don't want to be comforted by them (I think). I just like speculation so seeing theories is cool for me.
I have been seeing Welcome Home everywhere and want to see more of it and see it develop. I love horror projects like such; in fact, I love the semi-resemblance with DHMIS (mainly the puppet show concept + the horror). I also find it worth comparison between it and Sesame St. as HannahTheHorrible on Youtube had done in her analysis video which I recommend seeing! (Your Organized & Definitive Guide to Welcome Home!). I just really want to learn more about this, especially since the website is currently down.
what i understand from youtube is that steven universe is actually the most powerful cartoon of all time.
every single cartoon thats ended after SU have killed its bad guy to prove it wrong. they only exist to react to it. SU has also created a powerful time loop, where every youtuber constantly craving a new cartoon to do the bold, new, revolutionary thing of owning SU by killing its villains. it doesn't matter how many cartoons have already done that. its always new, and its always important. its an endless ouroboros cycle of needing a new cartoon to be the first ever to not forgive. the cycle will never end. the youtubers never have the faintest recollection of other cartoons demonstrating how common it is to kill the big bad. its always something new. bold. refreshing.
steven universe is always defeated by every new cartoon, but the defeat never lasts. SU always rises again and must be defeated anew, for the very first time.
steven universe is dead. long live steven universe.
I also just thought about Steven Universe (SU) and I must say that at first one of my least favorite characters was Pearl because she felt too “perfect” and after the big reveal came about that Rose Quartz was Pink Diamond, I realized how much I actually liked Pearl. She was loyal, caring, strong, smart, and inspiring. She obviously had flaws, but she worked through them and formed a stronger bond with Steven and the Gems. I wish we could’ve seen more of Pearl and the mystery girl from that one episode. Also my favorite character is Sapphire, like from Garnet (ft. Ruby). I like Sapphire bc she’s just amazing; no doubt.
okay i’ve needed to get this of my mind but I’ve watched Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared (DHMIS) all episodes of the web series and tv series and I absolutely love it. Like these three....things (?) live together and get traumatized together. I mean the concepts and meanings behind each episode and the fandom that’s been created is, although a little strange, very comforting. It’s actually one of my comfort shows and my favorite of the “guys” is yellow guy (YG); I call him that but I’ve seen him as Doi and David but YG is just funnier. All three characters are the best, but YG is just really innocent and sweet; he’s like a little kid. that was a lot....
