Trade in the Blame - Chapter VI

After the loss of your father resulting from the manifestation of your magic, you are collected by Professor Fig to attend Hogwarts. Welcomed by your fellow classmates, you form a great many various relationships while maneuvering through this new world and your new abilities.
The Silver Trio is end-game.
Follows the plot but the Ivy is given more agency, and there is some canon divergence.
You meet with Weasley and Fig before your first class.
After gathering you from breakfast, Professor Weasley leads you to a large fountain in a grand, open space full of clusters of students, mingling amongst themselves before the first hour of classes strikes.
“Central Hall,” Weasley remarks as you draw near the fountain. The water is quieter than you expect. “You can get almost anywhere in the castle quickly from here.”
Your eyes scan over the area; ornate marble pillars, expertly carved wood, impossibly high ceilings, even the floor is tiled in such a way that leaves you dizzy. A student stands next to the fountain and flips a coin in; the stone mermaids begin circling the goblins that hold a platform with a unicorn and… something you know is a magical creature but not one that’s come up in your studies just yet.
“You’ll be expected to attend both Charms and Defense Against the Dark Arts classes today,” Weasley says, drawing back your attention. Her steps halt beside the sound-dampened wet stone. “Professor Hecat will be the first you meet. Our ever-gifted professor will be teaching how to defend oneself against the evils that lurk beyond these walls. And later you’ll attend Charms with Professor Ronen. He’s a clever and entertaining wizard—and a talented teacher.”
Her eyes hold on yours a moment, as if searching for some reaction to the mention of danger. You try your damndest to remain stone-faced.
After a moment, she continues, her face hiding any hint as to whether she found what she sought. “And I’d like to be sure you get to Hogsmeade as soon as possible to replace the supplies you lost on the way here.”
Fig had mentioned Hogsmeade during your travels; the sole all-wizarding village in Britain, he’d said. His descriptions of the town left you eager to explore; all of the shops and seeing magic so freely used.
“Professor, I–” Your face falls a bit. “All my coin is–”
She holds up a hand. “Do not fret,” she instructs. “The Ministry has provided a small sum for you to use given all that had happened on your journey here.”
“I… don’t know what to say,” you reply.
“Think nothing of it,” she says, smiling. “Focus on experiencing your day. After all, you only have one first day at Hogwarts, and you’ve plenty to occupy your mind as you catch up to your peers.”
