I am the author of the Gravity Falls fic, Down Along The Creek. It is pretty much my magnum opus, and will feature five arcs. Except for Arc I, all arc titles can possibly change if I feel it's necessary.

Arc V: Epilogue
I am unsure how many chapters will be in each arc, I'm kinda just balling and vibing with it. When it's finished, it's finished. I only know the amount Arc I will contain for now.
I also usually post on Wednesdays, right now I'm on a short hiatus to rewatch GF and reorient myself!

Note: Both playlists follow a loose set of rules which is basically it being a soup pot of songs that are either "is actually applicable" "general vibes" or "this one specific lyric but nothing else." For Jo's in particular, there's also a bit of "songs she would listen to." It's up to you what you want to interpret them as smiles.

There is a new "chapter" up for DATC, but it's not a chapter, it's a note. I am c/p'ing it here, and plan to post it in the next end note as well for people who didn't see it in time before I wrote the next chapter.

So ya'll must be wondering where I've been. It's been a year hands on hips. I don't typically do notes like this, but I figure this one is deserved. Lock in. I also plan to delete this note and copy all of this into the next end note as to not disrupt my flow. But we'll get there when we get there.
I didn't get the job I wanted so I'm still stuck as a sub aide/monitor sigh. Summer went quickly. I started to deviate from Gravity Falls and focus on other fandoms as the next chapter was giving me a bit of trouble.
September was. An event. Ah, I dunno if ya'll have checked out my haunted hotel fic, but long story short: one of my brothers unfortunately passed away incredibly suddenly from a heart attack. Suddenly, I relate a little too hard to Stan trying to get Ford back for thirty-something years lmao. As you can imagine, this pushed my mental health down a spiral. I started focusing heavily on my aforementioned hauho fic, since it is my major coping mechanism. I'm still working on it and is one of my more focused on projects.
Now: To the state of this fic. And I'm nervous and anxious and blagh about this but I have come to a realization. I in fact, had this realization back in the summer, but tried to fight back against it. I did not win. The realization had hands.
I do not like writing x reader's.
A oneshot? Sure. A short, maybe at most 10 chapter fic? Yeah, I could probably wing that. But a behemoth that this fic will be? I just. I dislike doing it. I felt incredibly limited in what I could do. And I feel like I'm performing an act for a subset of fic readers that have a lot of loud, entitled voices, and thus I feel like I suffered from it. I like having validation from internet strangers for my fics, that'll never change, but to the point where I was scared constantly of disappointing or getting called out for a choice for a story I made that "did not fit their personality" or whatever? It felt like a tightrope act.

Ya'll were pleasant readers! I really loved interacting with ya'll and I appreciated all your words and patience with myself. And I plan to continue this fic!
However.
It will turn into an oc fic, which is what it was originally conceived as. Which may have been obvious, though I did try to be as inclusive as I could be as a white woman lmao.
So...
Arc I will continue as an x reader. I might as well stay consistent on that end, because rewriting everything would make me want to melt into the ground. However, arc II and beyond will become an x oc fic. If you are disinterested, I apologize but also I don't as I am doing this for me. You can unsubscribe and unbookmark whatever you wanna do. I am not in control of your actions. But if you are the percentage who decide to stick around, I'd be glad to have you be here. I'm very excited for the next arcs and what will happen next and I hope you love Oakley--or her full name, Joanne Nancy Oakley, as much as I do :) her personality won't change in the slightest beyond what is planned as character development, so the fic won't change all that much in hindsight.
