Long post on the TF2 mercs and comparing them to MLP characters
My mind won't shut up with it begging me to make this post so here it is after MONTHS of it haunting my brain, TF2 mercs + Pauling and the Admin I feel are similar to the g4 MLP characters :D !! Some of these characters I mentioned are from all seasons to 1-9, to the movie, and the Equestria Girls,, so I'll be sure to give a deeper analysis on why I chose some characters. HERE WE GO.
Scout: Rainbow Dash, Babs Seed, Spike, Smolder, Zephyr Breeze, and Scootalo
(Obviously Scout is Rainbow, i mean ofc being personality wise, and both are super fast. but also like her, Scootalo, and Spike, he wants to be appreciated, told he's awesome cause i swear he'll fall apart if he's not constantly reminded he's loved and not gonna be forgotten, parental issues on Scoot's part, Spike on his sarcasm and both having crushes on ppl who will never date them /at least in Scout's part he had a chance, but they just aren't canonically meant to be/. Zephyr Breeze, Fluttershy's younger(?!) brother, reminds me of Scout. given both again,, flirtious af to characters who will never commit to them sadly /rainbow dash,, hhh she's a lesbian. pauling did agree to dating scout but they never do end up in a relationship/. i wouldn't say Scout is lazy or too scared to commit to a job like Zephyr tho. but god,, just see a clip of Zephyr if y'all want.
Smolder is a dragon character who appears in s8 and both are the same personality wise but also both seem to hide they do like whatever is considered girly things. like Scout's voice lines have him referencing the whole "friendship is magic" saying, but i also see Scout as someone too scared to like that unless others around him don't mock him for it. but also wouldn't care if someone made fun of him, he'd just be like Smolder and go "psh whatever. your loss." For Babs, just the personality and he most def bullies others cause he don't wanna be bullied himself but has a heart.)
Soldier: Iron Will, Ember, Marble Pie, Prince Rutherford, and Bulk Biceps
(HE IS 100% IRON WILL and PRINCE RUTHERFORD /prince of the yaks, first appearance s5 ep Party Pooped/. Both loud, aggressive, but with Rutherford, is still caring. tho with Iron Will,, that toxic masculinity,, can be way too hard on others, but he's not greedy for money like Iron Will. Marble Pie cause of how ready she was to threaten Applebloom in s5 😭,, yeah Soldier would yell at a child but wouldn't beat one up....i think. but just like her, is just a tough character who cares deeply that it mixes with his anger, angry when things go to shit and don't go his way or if you disrespect how he do things. Bulk Biceps...again, loud muscular dude but loves his friends)
Pyro: Pinkie Pie, Gummy, Cozy Glow, and Sonata
(HAAA we all know Pyro would be Pinkie. But I get Cozy Glow also cause of how Pyro may be all cutesy /to me/ but has done a ton of dark shit and has a messed up mind. Sonata cause again, messed up but silly and I bet Pyro loves tacos as much as Sonata does. I was gonna have Discord be here but honestly,, nah,, Discord's chaos is diff from Pinkie's. Pinkie's is where you're more freaked out by her cause she's an EARTH PONY breaking the laws of physics at times. Discord you can understand is literally the lord of Chaos and I'm getting off topic 😩)
Demoman: Applejack, Gabby, Ocellus, Silverstream, Princess Luna, and Pinkie Pie
(Applejack due to being loyal to his family and traditions, Gabby /a griffon from s6/ and Silverstream a hippogriff/sea pony from s8/ cause he's a friggin sweetheart but like Ocellus /changeling from s8/ he has trauma ;-;. just doesn't wanna end up hurting others cause of his cursed eye, blames himself for the crud that happened to him, his family, and the team, give him a hug please. Pinkie cause he's the life of a goddamn party 😎✨🤘🏾. he'd be a cool dude to have a drink with.
And for Luna, I was thinking her only cause they both do things that harm themselves, due to blaming themselves for their crummy past <\3)
Engineer: Twilight, and Applejack
(Twilight cause,, well science nerds. Applejack cause both are country who stay true to their family traditions and god he and Applejack just care so much about their friends. like remember Engie was concerned for the ADMIN. he was worried for Pauling at the end of the comics, he and AJ can be scary when threatening ;o;. Both play guitar and I bet he has a lovely singing voice I dunno)
Heavy: Rockhoof, and Big Mac
(Rockhoof is an Earth pony character from s7 to appearing once in s8. /WHY THO HE'S SO LOVABLE WHY DID THEY UNDER USE THE ANCIENT PONIES HASBRO DID THEM AND STARSWIRL DIRTY FRICKKK/ anyways,, both not the best at English, have a thick accent, both incredibly strong, is a friggin sweetheart /yeah Heavy is messed up too but STILL/, Big Mac cause much like him, barely talk, cares deeply for his family, would do ANYTHING for them. that and design wise similar minus the hair)
Medic: Twilight, Fluttershy, Dr.Hooves, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie
(Surprised I added Rarity here huh? I dunno, something about Medic reminds me of Rarity? ig it's cause how Rarity is with designing clothes seems similar to Medic and how he is with his experiments. Also both fashionable af and gorgeous like,, MEDIC IS BEAUTIFUL HELPPP. And the way she screams is like Medic levels when he's screaming in agony, fear, or just going more insane than he already is hh,, same for how Rarity is constantly thinking of fashion and wanting to give her friends the best clothes she designs herself, Medic the same with the human body and wanting to make sure everyone's organs are more functional than other. Like...wow design wise they are insanely similar???
I only have Fluttershy here cause of how they both are with animals. I bet Medic would own an animal sanctuary if he could.
Why Pinkie Pie? Like Pyro, INSANE. BREAKING THE LAWS OF PHYSICS. FRIGGIN FUN, FUNNY, and also cause their laughs are friggin contagious. I love his laugh,, I love his fun ass energy. I love how he's just so friggin funny tbh like,, god he's Pinkie Pie. I love how they both are insane in battle. Yeah this goes for Pyro but,, I just feel Pinkie energy from Medic, or their energy is just matched.
Dr.Hooves is a background pony thankfully finally given a full on appearance in s5 ep slice of life. Both insane doctors who may be older than they are wanting to perfect science and even magic through the most wild ways. Medic's infirmary is most def just as messy and cluttered as Hooves home is /LIKE,, GOD,, WHY COULDN'T WE SEE HIM AGAIN AFTER THAT ASIDE FROM COMICS MLP WHYYY/. And def dating/married to a character who just sees their insanity and goes "...I love this guy." /Hooves with Bubbles,, Muffins,, Derpy...who knows what names she got. and ofc Heavy with Medic/
And for Twilight,, I'd say Twilight up to seasons 1-3 and that one ep A Trivial Pursuit in s9 of her and Pinkie being part of a game show, yeah,, that's just Medic whenever he's playing against Heavy in chess /from End Of The Line one of my fav fan animations aaaghhh/.)
Sniper: Big Mac, and Ember
(Same for Big Mac, not much for talking unless he's like,, uber close with you? Ember /princess of dragons first appearance s6/ cause dad issues. I feel bad for Sniper cause I can't think of anyone else that'd fit with him...maybe Princess Luna? Maybe?)
Spy: Trixie, Discord, Capper, Rarity, Filthy Rich and Spoiled Rich
(Trixie? Yeah Trixie. Sarcastic af, cares tho. Thinks he's better than everyone else. Capper /a cat character from the MLP movie/, can be shifty and sneaky, keeps a lot of secrets but will give them away when necessary. Rarity, only due to both of them being fashionable and flirty af. How she was with Sweetie Belle in the first few seasons is similar to how he is with Scout but worse cause they both fight physically and the other don't even know that's his dad. And hates getting their clothes dirty. Also French,, Rarity isn't but uses French words at time.
Filthy and Spoiled Rich! Filthy isn't a deadbeat dad, but he's still not always there for his daughter Diamond Tiara /you'd think I'd add her for Scout...and I would...but I dunno why I won't/. Spoiled Rich is a shit mom, not a deadbeat, but sucks. I dunno, her personality can remind me of Spy at times. Flexin how rich they are and hates being around those he deems lesser than him.
Discord! Aaa he just seems like Discord to me. Annoys tf out of everyone and everyone hates them /except for their dearest loves, Fluttershy for Discord, and Spy ofc with Scout's mom/. Both have an odd way of showing they care about others /Discord giving friendship lessons in ways that make you angry at him but hey, he's Discord, he's gonna troll you bad. Spy the same, he legit just gave a kid a lesson in life like "kid you wanna defend yourself if you or your family are in danger? you gotta fight back. even if you're scared, do it scared." he didn't say it like that but god that comic HE IS GOOD WITH KIDS HE JUST AIN'T MEANT TO BE A DAILY DAD GODDD/
okay that was it for the mercs! now onto Pauling and the Admin.
Ms.Pauling: Starlight, and Twilight
(Anxiety characters. Pauling reminds me of Starlight cause of that, and also having interests others would find weird. /Starlight loves kites and she says this in a way like "please don't find me weird for this". Pauling loves RP board games/. Twilight,, aaa wants to prove she can be something special and needed to Celestia. Basically her with Administrator but with an added toxic one sided crush there. Also needs a goddamn break,, give her a break.)
Administrator: Queen Chrysalis, and Principal Cinch
(You'd think I'd have her paired up with Celestia? Yeah, I'm not seeing Admin in Celestia. Celestia is more kind and caring in how she is with Twilight, how she cares for Equestria and isn't a monster /I don't allow Celestia slander here 👹🔥💔/. Chrysalis is literally willing to kill her own kind if they decide to not stay killing others. She rules her kingdom with an iron fist, yeah in the comics she says she's tough on her hive, but she cares for them as if they're her own /which,, they are in a way???/, yet for Admin? Still incredibly evil who doesn't care for anyone /used to,, but that was long ago ;-; oh comics you hurt me with her still filled with questions needing answers past/.
And for Principal Cinch /from Equestria Girls Friendship Games/? Much like how Sci Twilight /actual separate human version of Twilight/ is with Cinch wanting to make her proud and prove she isn't a failure, she treats Pauling the same. She doesn't care about Pauling, she just wants her to do her job. She was literally willing and ready to abandon Twilight when she was literally screaming for help as she was transforming against her will, left all the students HER OWN STUDENTS TOO when Twilight's corrupted form was close to destroying the world and almost killing some of the students too....Admin would've wanted her to do that and stay to watch everything fall apart. I dunno, that's Admin vibes there. Also the voice. And design is so similar to her.)
