lukewarm take but i really truly agree more with hanma's look in the final timeleap. the long black hair and blonde money pieces. formal clothes that look like he did NOT have that shit tailored. the other timeline(s?) had him lookin too fancy and boujee and all properly dressed and expensive. final timeline kind of looks like a street rat that became an art student but cant let go of their street rat ways.

street rat fits hanma better, and im not saying that bc i just dont really like his character.... im saying it because i feel like the style is true to his nature.

hi my fellow bsd fans i know a lot of u are picking up the novels that some of ur fave characters namesakes have written, i am similar (though several were on my list/i already read them before i watched the series, i love classic literature <3) so i will say.... i love No Longer Human, it is GENUINELY a very good read. by all means, PLEASE READ THE SETTING SUN!!!! the book is actually very good. its short, much like No Longer Human. i just really think Osamu was really good at writing very humanly flawed characters and i could write a thousand essays on this.

I NEED TO GET THIS OFF MY CHEST IM SORRY okay so Death Note is a HUUUUGE SpIn of mine and has been since i was 13 (i pick it up and put it down per the rules of my Special Interest Roulette Wheel that spins involuntarily) but i need to talk about Naomi Misora.

I Fucking HATE and i mean HATE that she was noted to be one of the BEST FBI AGENTS who was RECOGNIZED BY L (y'know, worlds greatest detective) and she literally worked WITH HIM as his eyes during the Los Angeles BB Murders Case (ofc i read the book i really was into death note i mean it) but for some GOD AWFUL REASON,,,, for some stupid fucking reason,,, SHE had to quit her job with FBI to stay with Raye and NOT Raye?!?!

like i will be real, the reason was probably plain and simple. shes a woman and would have gotten paid less and would be less likely to have gotten raises regardless of being recognized by L bc Thats Just How America Is (Tsugumi Ohba does like to put 'subtle' criticisms of America in death note, if you pay attention) but OH MY GOD Raye just was not smart like Naomi. and he refused to listen to her. ill be real i did not like Raye that much.

if Naomi were the one following Light instead of Raye i think Light would have been caught. which would have cut the story short, yes. i love death note and i find the story really good and well written. but oooohhh myyyy GOD i wish Naomi wouldve got his ass. Light found her through a series of coincidences. he wasnt caught during that whole thing due to COINCIDENCE. im so MAD.

okay so hey yall! first off, thank you all for the reblogs and responses. second, ill be real... when i first got into death note and it became a SpIn... i was like 12 maybe 13? and it was before i was hardcore on ANY social media, let alone had a tumblr. like i had social media, i just stayed off of itfor the most part due to my disliking of it at the time and ive always been socially underdeveloped compared to my peers (im autistic, if you didnt pick up on that). i only got INSTAGRAM when i was like 16 and all my friends begged me to. mind you, that was end of 2015/most of 2016. 2019 i discovered bungo stray dogs and that gripped my brain for YEARS. and then TokRev from 2024 until recently. so ill be honest, i was unaware that Ohba was GENUINELY misogynistic. i kind of always had a feeling, never had confirmation nor really lookex into it. did my research and read y'alls tags and comments. by all means, he is misogynistic! anyways thank you for letting me know. i still love the series dearly and will still engage with fandom stuff, just wont be buying death note merch thats licensed probably ever lol.
