Today I will talk about my other passion (with graphic design). This is football. Not the soccer, but the american football.
I play football since 2010 in the Léopards. I discover this sport thanks to a friend who invited me at a training. He read the manga "Eyeshield21" and played in the parc with classmates.
Today I am a 3rd-year player in the Junior team and also a captain of my team. It's the last year I play because of my studies, but I hope I will play again later, and I think I'll coach next year.
Of course I want to share my passion, and the videos or series I will introduce explain very good the game.
These videos are not what we expect about football: the NFL, the stars, the money, the girls, the glory or the injuries. It's about the young boys like me who play for passion and ambitions.
The first picture comes from First and 17, a webserie by the Washington Post. We discover a little high school team in Virginia, the Woodbridge Warriors. The documentary starts at the first day of training camp in August and stops after the end of the season with the recruit of the universities. We follow especially Da'Shawn Hand, a big young defensive end who is the #1 prospect in the US (the best high school player). We learn about the team, about the high school, about Da'Shawn and his family and about the coaches. It's simple and we discover how a young boy can resist medias and marks.

The second is a serie called Friday Night Lights. It's a drama television serie about the high school team of the fictive little Texan town Dillon: the Panthers. Created by Peter Berg, we follow during 5 seasons the coach Eric Taylor (Kyle Chandler) with his team. Of course there are football stars and losers, but we discover how football is important in Texas. All the town waits for friday night and its football team. We discover the religion, the tensions between communities, the high school, and of course the life of teenagers, with flirts and experiences.

The third is closer of us, it's a webserie called In the Eye of the Hurricane about the Hurricanes of Montpellier. Created by Jordan Motyl (WZF Prod), the first season follows the Junior team until their French champions' title (I would have won this title). It's very interesting because we discover a football team in France where this sport is almost unknown. Of course this club wins and the local medias talk about it, but we see the means for this sport. The second season follow all the club with the junior team, but with the senior team and the formation center.

And the fourth is a documentary called The Last Play realised by Alex Camara. It's a documentary about the junior team of the Mariners of Vannes. I think it's the documentary between the four that is the closer of me. It's about the 3rd-year players (like me) who play together since 4 years (like me). We follow their season until their defeat against Saint-Denis. I lived the joy after a big win, I lived the big road games with 8 hours in a bus, I lived the deception after an elimination. I lived the feeling that we are like a family on the sideline. But this year I will live the last season with the team, and the last play of the season (I hope it will be at the latest). Thanks to this documentary, I can imaginate how it will be.
