UPDATE: it's August and I've been living my life to the best of my ability and wearing sandals that are very inappropriate for work. I also am now obsessed with beauty products but I still eat things like sushi burritos on the reg.
Just had a really great lunch with my Dad in DuPont South. If it looks like my Dad is my only friend, it is true. He is never around DuPont at lunch so it was really special to eat lunch together downtown. Idk, there's something nice about getting taken to lunch by your dad. He LOVES Jewish delis and so I picked DGS. I had a roasted turkey and chicken liver sandwich and he had a corned beef sandwich. I have really complicated feelings about chicken liver which I won't freak out about in this post. Basically, I really like some of the flavors but then something swoops in and changes my mind. Anyway, lovely lunch.
I cooked mussels for the first time last night! With my Dad's help 😬. I'm really trying to embrace having him give me all these cooking tips -- and not needing to give them over text. We made mussels in a white wine reduction sauce with fresh herbs and linguine. This was the first time I had really sliced garlic and reduced wine, and for something so simple, it is so so good. Most of the time I have something and I'm like -- how can I make this spicier or more savory? But the fresh ingredients of this dish stand up without extra spice. I used this Epicurious recipe if one person actually reads this and wants to make. Also, fresh herbs are so great!!!! We used dill and parsley.

Dinner last night at Kapnos Kouzina in Bethesda was great 😊 I don't get treated like this very often and it was great to get to pick the Mother's Day dinner spot. Everything was tasty -- nothing stood out and wowed me -- but I thought the fried Greek potatoes were very good! I wish I was having them right now for breakfast. Blog announcement! J and I are going to CHARLESTON this weekend!! Get ready for the food photossssss.
I ate out this week at Taylor Gourmet. It think it was the first time I ordered a salad at a fast casual restaurant. This salad is called the Columbus salad and it has kale and peppercorn ranch dressing -- so good! Also the risotto balls are a slice of heaven. I need to stop eating out for lunch 😬
This beautiful mess is my Italian Hoagie from Bub and Pop's today. I've gotten this sandwich three times in two weeks -- it's so good!! It's hoagie bread, turkey, arugula, relish, tomatoes, mayo, and Parmesan. The mayo + bread combo is one of my favorite food things, and Bub and Pops does it right!!
Sigh, this pork chop and broken rice were so good/beautiful that I may never post on here again. Life motto right now -- order the pork chop when you can.

J and I went to Raku Bethesda this weekend bc we are sushi FANatics. We ordered a spicy tuna roll and a spicy crunchy tuna roll. Bc one tuna roll is not enough.
