reblog if you hate the current interior design trend of painting everything white with hints of grey or black. ignore if you have no taste
One of the most common reasons given for boundaries (and subsequent boundary policing) is the idea that cc's see themselves as their characters and it makes them uncomfortable in some way. Sometimes this is made explicit (such as luanne + kyleff) and other times it's the clear background implication (pyro). There's a term in broader rp space for this concept called "character bleed" (<- blog post describing it w/ some academic articles) and its usage in the context of boundaries is complete bs
I think graecie (in her discussion on stream and on tumblr) unpacks the idea that managing bleed is on the audience really well! I also think it's a shame that, despite this, she's never used as a "good example" when talking about boundaries. So, I'm talking about her and why other people should too

The first name means gold so it's like "gold smith". I like to think he comes from a family of jewellers
happy birthday to leo valdez, a character thats been so mischaracterized by the fandom to the point where if he were to see the way some people that call themselves his fans treat him, he’d feel like absolute shit
leo valdez is not conveniently attractive. he is not confident. he does not open up to people. he is not who people try and pretend he is.
as somebody who can never tell the people closest to them who they actually are, it is the worst feeling ever to hear people say that they love you while almost entirely making up components of who you are to try and make you more likeable to them.
you can’t be a leo valdez fan without accepting him for every bit of who he is, especially when thats truly the only thing he’s ever wanted.
happy birthday leo valdez, i am so sorry.
i'm team change. anyway starting a "gods & change" list while i do my listen of the newest olympian. it'll be interesting hehe >:3

This just confirms that the idea that gods are incapable of change is PROPAGANDA and we are CORRECT believing that the Greco-Roman pantheon is quite literally closed-off from the others. Like everyone this is isolation. An abuse tactic. TOA FANDOM WE ARE CORRECT
quick does anyone remember the Norse gods saying anything about godly change. we got apollo & aphrodite as the greek-roman duo. set & isis as egypt. who’s our norse.
Loki? I feel like the answer to that is just Loki in general (but i may be bias because i like Loki outside of the riordanverse)
I really like the little detail of Chiron usually being the one to announce a demigod once they’ve been claimed but the moment Apollo arrived in camp he took over the role so smoothly which really establishes him as the patron god for camp half blood plus he worded it exactly like Chiron so he probably taught the centaur how to do it which is so 😫😫😫
What is it with Rick Riordan and wolves.
Like there are so many wolves. And to quote Magnus Chase 'why is it always wolves' seriously.
hii! I wanted to start reading the riordanverse but I'm having trouble figuring out the reading order. If anyone could help me I'd really appreciate it
The timeline on the wiki is a good reading order

Doing a final project in my stats class, we have to pick a subject and collect data on it. We need at least 100 data points, and I figured this blog is big enough that a poll on here could get to that pretty easily!
Doing my project on if it’s more likely to be born in certain months :]
I have gotten the OK from my teacher to collect data using a Tumblr poll, btw. I’m also going to have to send her this post as proof of where I got the data from / proof I didn’t just make up the numbers. So. Behave
People have a tendency to villainize E. Gadd because he doesn’t express a lot of empathy and makes a fair share of tactless comments, but I definitely stand by the fact that he and Luigi have a darned good friendship going.
I mean, did E. Gadd make a goo clone out of Luigi’s DNA without his permission? Yes, but it was a clone specifically so Luigi wouldn’t be alone when ghost hunting. A clone that he felt he could only trust Luigi to train.
Heck, a lot of E. Gadd’s recent technology has revolved around making Luigi’s ghost hunting easier and safer. And that’s in addition to the fact that he…
Details in his scientific notes how worried he was for Luigi during certain boss fights
Calls Luigi every few minutes throughought Luigi’s Mansion 2 to make sure he’s okay, once saying he was on the verge of leaving his bunker to go out looking for him
Has flown into a panic about Luigi’s safety, even after he technically completed his mission to save the world
Willingly stayed in a dangerous situation he didn’t want to be in so he could help Luigi save his family
Started choking up at the thought losing Luigi, wanting his last words to him to be an expression how proud he was
Maybe he’s a little mean sometimes, and sometimes he crosses boundaries or doesn’t listen, but it’s balanced out with efforts to help and shows of genuine concern. It’s a flawed friendship, but one of genuine respect between the two.
It feels like… an old autistic guy with hyperfixation issues who has long given up on having any sort of relationship (platonic or otherwise) that isn’t strictly professional. And then in the midst of his scientifically motivated self-isolation, along comes this awkward green undiagnosed plumber who is not only capable enough to wield his inventions like a champ, but is kindhearted and understanding enough to put up with his nonsense and still consider him a good friend.
So now E. Gadd has stopped masking around him. He has found someone he feels completely comfortable around for the first time in his long life, someone he actually cares about and thinks about so often that it’s gotten intertwined with his hyperfixation.
Again, the friendship has its flaws, but the two are clearly very good for each other. It’s a very specific flavor of wholesome that I really enjoy.
Almost certain this is unintentional.
But thinking about that scene of Mario parkouring around the construction site while Luigi runs behind him, quick enough to keep up but unable to jump around or do acrobatics….
Why do I feel like it’s a nod to Luigi’s Mansion game mechanics vs Mario game mechanics?
pikmin luigi!
gave him yellow pikmin characteristics (ears) cuz Thunder Hand
A dashing rogue and a gentleman thief crosses your way, whatever will you do?
Anyhow something something been thinking about these two designs for partner in crime setup. The retro aes was just for fun.
