My biggest ever craft project: a Raven Queen cosplay for the Critical Role live show in Sydney. I made everything I am wearing, as well as the cloak and mask in for my friend's Champion of Ravens. The whole thing took three or four months.

one thing it is imperative to know about the television show Widow’s Bay is that it was created by katie dippold whose name you may not immediately recognize but whose tweet from 10 years ago you definitely do:
i hate when something is in 20 minutes

I think the only person I've met in real life with 100% career satisfaction was this gal I knew who was a presenter at a children's science museum and delivered every line like she was running a WWE match. Every time you passed the room where she was giving a presentation, you'd hear something like "WHO'S READY FOR CEPHALOPODS?!?" and the kids would go absolutely nuts cheering.

stop using chatgpt!!!! take a bronze pin and carve your questions onto an ox scapula, then toss it into the fire!!!! use the cracks to divine the gods answer!!!!
citations still have to be APA 7th edition though. if you plagiarise, the gods will flood the yellow river again. and you'll lose your academic standing.

Professionalism sucks I wanna put "😭😭" in my emails.
Day 1 of fucking that old man.
Good lird he crumbled to dust.
Fortunately, a solution!
1. Get some water
2. Mix him into a paste
3. Form him back into shape
4. Let him dry or perhaps cook him
5. Fuck him again
☝️Don't let an old man crumbling to dust stop you. FUCK HIM AGAIN.

platonic third base: when you get to know someone well enough that they start making mortifyingly specific observations about you
yesterday i was chilling with my friend and there was an ice cream van outside and every time the jingle played i'd look out the window and after the third time i did this my friend said, accurately, 'i think you want to get ice cream but you're scared of the ice cream man.' devastating
I do think some people need to realize you cannot Amazon prime one day free shipping your way into a friendship/relationship
sometimes it’ll be inconvenient. sometimes you will have to sit through a movie you don’t enjoy and still say, “it was nice!” sometimes you’ll have to forgive them for things, and sometimes you’ll have to have tough conversations. human connection is often about learning how and why and what and when to care about another person. at least the one’s that are worth it. it might cost a couple more emotional dollars, and the shipping is a couple business days more, but it’s worth it.
most novels at their core thematically are usually about some shit like the protagonist's bone-deep feelings of loneliness and isolation and their cravings for but inability to connect with other people. this is largely because novelists are sick freaks who are driven by their demons to spend hundreds of hours sitting alone in quiet rooms to write tens and thousands of words of text. they may not intend to write stories about loneliness, but by week six of the typing timeloop they are writing stories about loneliness whether they like it or not. writing a novel is not a naturally occurring healthy behavior, humans only do this when they are very distressed.
Last year, I befriended a Catholic seminarian. We've gotten to be pretty decent friends. Seeing as he was staying in town for the summer and I wasn't, I entrusted him with caring for my plant.
He did a wonderful job, but as he was returning my plant to my custody, he explained "I watered her every other day, I gave her new dirt, moved her into the sunshine, prayed the rosary-"
"What?"
He looked at me, confused. "Isn't she a plant you pray with?"
"No," I said slowly. "She's a prayer plant. That's the... colloquial name of the plant."
Upon seeing his stricken face, I realized something went wrong. Turns out, this entire time, he's been including my plant in on his prayers and leaving her near icons.
Listen, totally cool. My plant becoming Catholic is a great deal for her not dying over the summer. But now I must navigate this interfaith household. Keep me in your thoughts.
For a moment, our gazes held as we mingled in unity. One person. We had always been one person. Nighteyes had voiced it long ago. It was good to be whole again. I used our strength to pull myself up, to press his brow to mine. I did not close his eyes. Our gazes locked. I felt my frightened breath against his mouth. “Take your body back from me,” I bade him quietly. And so we passed, one into the other, but for a space we had been one. The boundaries between us had melted in the mingling. “No limits,” I recalled him saying, and suddenly understood. No boundaries between us.

Everything is so rushed. People in their twenties complaining about being old, sped up songs, sped up videos, too many things to do in such a short time. We have lost the art of lingering.
