Courage the Cowardly FBI Analyst
Their argument was "not all cops" yet they still portrayed cops as tools of oppression and made their leader a selfish person who gasses minors while calling them animals.
And now we've got white fems telling us that it's actually super feminist to be a cop.
They're all ACAB until it's a lesbian with big tits, ass and small waist with a classist attitude.
Babe, you did the WRONG thing for the WRONG reason.
tshirt saga - bookstreet ft. zain's inventors!!
I will NEVER get over how absolutely beautiful she is.
Unpopular opinion but Vi's breakdown after Cait left her isn't a "lol so relatable" stereotype of how lesbians behave after a "one week situationship" and I know some people are genuinely just joking buuuuut I feel like the jokes just whitewash Cait's behaviour so that CaitVi relationship dynamics can continue looking like anything but abusive.
Cait literally hit Vi with her gun. Cait ā an ENFORCER ā hit Vi. Vi. The same Vi who had been assaulted by enforcers her whole life. Caitlyn didn't just trigger Vi's abandonment trauma. She made her feel worthless. I truly think CaitVi is the worst on-screen lesbian representation we have so far. How are we supposed to believe Caitlyn is changed and it's safe for anybody to have intimate relationships with her, let alone for Vi? In what world does a former cop reform themselves so fast? It's not as simple as quitting the occupation, tf. They should have separated for good.
AND she did all that after saying some REALLY fucked up and xenophobic shit about the place and people Vi come from and VI HERSELF.
She NEVER apologizes for either, nor the emotional abuse and nor the physical one.
And no, fucking in a place eerily simillar to the one Vi herself spent the remaining of her childhood and young adult life going through the horrors of police brutallity in encarceration is NOT an apology. Making it easier for Jinx to escape isn't it either.
The show ends and because of this lack of apology and accountability we CAN'T be sure Cait will ever say nor do xenophobic and prejudiced acts against Zaun or Vi, nor resort to physical and emotional violence against Vi again when they have an argument.
Vi ends up in a REALLY vulnerable and DANGEROUS spot by staying with her. Feels like she'll basically have to submit to her whims and "behave" a certain to appease Cait in order to not be aboned nor hurt by her again :(
I despise when Caitlyn fans hide behind the āsheās a canonically POC character, you canāt call her oppressive! Thatād be racist!ā despite the fact that her ethnicity or race doesnāt really mean much when Piltoverās oppression of Zaun isnāt on the basis of race.
Itās about class, imperialism, authoritarianism and, obviously, capitalist oppression.
Caitlyn isnāt positioned as someone whoās marginalized due to her ethnic background, quite the opposite, sheās born into a system that actively benefits her. Her family literally has a seat at the council! You know, the same council that enacts police brutality and a type of apartheid against zaunits?
She literally has generational wealth, institutional backing, political protection, a title that lets her move through Zaun with armed authority, and later on has the full power to enact martial law on a place that could perfectly be its own nation and utilize chemical warfare against a population that is already living in horrible conditions. Saying thay she ājust gassed the Baronsā makes NO SENSE. The grey is GAS, she canāt control how it moves or where it goes, EPSECIALLY since she uses the ducts that allow Zaun to even have a breathable air.
Calling Caitlyn āoppressiveā isnāt saying she is an evil villain. Itās recognizing that she functions as an agent of an imperial core state. Sheās literally the human embodiment of Piltover. Structural oppression isnāt meant to look cartoonishly evil, she isnāt supposed to be sitting on a throne made out of zaunite bones.
And pretending that being part-Asian magically removes her from that role is just a way to dodge uncomfortable conversations about how power actually works in Arcane. Identity doesnāt cancel out structural position. Caitlyn is not oppressed in the context that matters here. Zaun is.
the jinx and vik's collab would've been so goated
but at least we got a funny sibling-like interaction in s2. this is an old art btw i hope the arcane fandom is alive here beause i will be posting some other bits (also the bookstreet duo is one of my favourites so no hate)
