New shoot I styled for Tank Magazine. Photographer - Ariana Lago Styling by Verity Pemberton Hair by Tomomi Roppongi Make-up by Oonah Anderson Model Katya Petyasheva at Models 1
A Little snapshot of Toto in Cornwall taken by my sister Amelia Pemberton, styled by me. Days spent sailing, drinking tea and walking through bluebell fields and forests full of trees with crooked backs bending with the wind.
Gucci Done Good
Never before have I seen a collection that feels as if someone as plucked all my dream outfits from my brain and made them into a reality. Alessandro Michele can do no wrong in my eyes - he puts the boys in berets and girls in clashing colours and eccentric ensembles fit for a Wes Anderson movie.
The new Campaign images shot by Glen Luchford are the icing on the cake for me. Pure awesomeness.
BETHNALS DENIM
I went to have a sneaky peek at the new Bethnals pop up shop that is currently residing right by Spitalfields market for the next couple of months. Mel who set up Bethnals has years of experience working with denim which is very much evident in her own label - Bethnals.
I only write about clothes and things I really like on here and Bethnals is definitely a brand worth checking out. I bought one of their plain cotton tees when the Kickstarter was launching and it’s easily one of my favourite plain tees. Being a designer I can be very fussy (which is mainly why I seem to wear mostly vintage as everything is just so well made) and you would think a plain tee is a plain tee but this one has had so many design details - high neck thick cotton rib, slubby cotton fabric and the Bethnals logo under the arm. The new store features the full unisex collection, some great tencel mix shirts, and various cuts of denim from your classic slim-line to more relaxed shapes and selvedge styles. I love the ‘Vic’ grandad collar shirt and am thinking this may be my next Bethnals purchase.
Anyway if you’re about Spitalfields then go check out the store on 73 Brushfield street or check out - http://bethnals.com/
I have rather been enjoying this confusing English weather where it’s sort of boiling hot then freezing cold in the evenings. Wore this wooly jumper, short shorts combo the other day which was fine until it was 11pm and I was in Soho and walking to the tube and was basically freezing my ass off. That’s what happens when you get too excited by the sunshine and it’s still April.
Wearing vintage jumper, vintage headscarf, Orla Kiely shorts and my trustee Sweedish Hasbeens x H&M sandals.
If you haven’t watched the Charles and Ray Eames documentary then you are really missing out. It is amazing and makes me yearn for the time when creative companies really were creative and constantly questioning how things were made and pushing new and exciting ideas. The Eames studio really sounded like an incredible place to work. The documentary, The Architect and The Painter is a great one to watch if your feeling a bit stuck creatively. The Interior picture above depicts a room in the Eames’ house which is also on my wish list of places to visit.
I love this little moon ring made by Ivy Nixon. Currently my hands are festooned with rings so my only trouble is finding space.
Absolutely love these plates by Martinich & Carran. Am a massive fan of colour and am always adding bits and pieces to my ceramic collection, if these weren’t so pricey I would buy a whole set.
My brother recently visited this Automation museum in Holborn and I am dying to go as it looks super fun - this image shows a chiropodist automation machine.
I need more mugs for my tea and this sign language one would make a great addition. It’s vintage and I have no idea where from but I like the challenge of trying to find one.
After a recent lapse in my book reading I have just gone on a big spending spree, I hate that my bus journeys are filled with needless scrolling on my i-phone. Am currently awaiting my first Joan Didion novel and second Sherlock Holmes novel written by Anthony Horowitz who has managed to capture the pacey aesthetic of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes to great effect. His first Sherlock Holmes novel - A Silk Road is a great read. Always a fan of Roald Dahl I cannot recommend the book, ‘My Uncle Oswald’ enough. I love Dahl and this book is just amazing, quite rude, witty with a wry humour.
My clothing purchases have some what stopped as I am rather distracted by buying homewares. In an effort to make my house resemble a jungle I would love to buy some hanging pots, this brass one is super slick.
Finally after being in a clothing rut for a while due to the fact my wardrobe is split between two places, half in boxes, half jammed in a cupboard which has resulted in me wearing a uniform of denim and old tees most days. Very boring. This image of Joni Mitchell is perfect and inspired me to finally sort out my wardrobe. Starting from today, I am wearing a suede midi skirt, painted tee and wrap around headband and feel so much better - so here’s to dressing up!
Happy Friday All!
So things have been quiet on this blog for a while mainly due to the craziness that was finishing off issue 2 of MOON magazine. But it's done. MOON 2 is out! I celebrated the launch Downstairs at Mother on Redchurch street featuring an exhibition of prints with walls covered in pages of the magazine. There was also amazing food supplied by Grub- the mini meringues were a particular favourite, I think I easily had about five. Big thanks to the awesome guys at Asahi beer for sponsoring the launch and Dalston Cola for providing free fizz. Thanks to everyone who came - now go and buy your copy! VALENTINO PRE FALL 2015
If I were to win the lottery the first thing I would buy would not be a car or a house, but the whole Valentino Pre-Fall 15 collection, all 97 looks. These are the dresses of my dreams. Literally as if Valentino's designers were just hanging out in my head writing notes, it also helps that my magazine is called MOON.
I mean do I have to spell it out, these dresses were made for me. I might even be tempted to pop to the newsagents to get said lottery ticket, you know…just incase!
So in love with this video/song/vibes. Can't stop playing it, awesome styling too by Nao Koyabu who I interviewed for Don't Know Yet right here.
Now press play and dance!
January Wishlist
January always seems like one of those months that drags on in a grey, cold and rainy way. At the same time it's the start of a new year, a start for all the projects and ideas I have lined up and a start to moving out and into my own place.
With the gross weather we have been having in London anything colourful/silly seems to be capturing my attention.
Looking for wallpaper for my new house wasn't hard as the awesome Mark and Wakako at Eley Kishimoto have started making it. Perfect timing! Will be getting the above pattern to decorate some rather boring walls.
This cushion hand printed by Hazel Stark just makes me smile right back at it.
£350 is rather steep for a bag that looks non-plussed but if I had some spare cash to burn then would love to buy this little face clutch from Acne.
I always find novelty socks such a good pick me up and these ones from Feat sock co. would look awesome with a pair of heels.
Just in love with this sketch by David Hockney from the Brothers Grimm fairytale book he illustrated. So perfectly eerie.
Hunting for house things I have fallen in love with a lot of pieces that are way beyond my budget. If I had an unlimited one the first thing I would buy would be these multicoloured tiles from Made a Mano. Like colouring in your shower with Crayolas.
Travels
Looking back through my photographs of this year I have had some pretty amazing escapes from the city. I love the english countryside and am very lucky that my cousins live in Devon right by the sea.
These pictures were taken from a long weekend where we stayed in a barn for some birthday celebrations, sobering ourselves up the next morning with a swim in the sea.
Already planning a few weekend escapes for 2015, the perfect antidote to living in the crazy amazingness that is London.
Vanidad Magazine - Dec 2015 issue
So happy to finally share this shoot I styled for Vanidad's December issue. The shoot was loosely inspired by the formidable Mary Randolph Carter, Long standing Ralph Lauren creative director whom I will be doing a post on shortly. In the mean time hope you like the pics!

The Debrief
Spent a fun morning playing dress up with The Debrief which involved playing around with a lot of silver sparkly stuff and having my make-up done which felt rather fancy. If you want to read my random chat about christmas dressing click here.
1st pic wearing House of Holland dress which is now on sale here with Urban Outfitters socks and Terry De Havilland x Anya Hindmarch shoes
2nd pic wearing Peter Jensen Grapefruit tee, Urban Outfitters skirt and my old trusty Marc by Marc Jacobs boots.
My Inside Space
First image - via freundevonfreunden, 4th image by Julie Ansaiu, all others Pinterest.
This year I have had two major projects in the works and they have taken over a lot more than I thought they would. MOON magazine issue 2 is currently being put together and I am nearing the end of a 6 month project doing up a property from scratch.
By scratch I mean choosing where electrical points go, lighting, colours, layouts, down to drawing specs of cupboards. Constantly looking at inspiration ideas for the fun part, the decorating! I have my heart set on a mustard sofa amongst other bits and bobs and looking forward to finishing with the heavy stuff and concentrating on moving in and filling up the shelves...
O'Dell's
Yesterday evening I popped into the launch of OTHER shop's pop up shop in Neal street Covent Garden. My friend Molly's boyfriend, Tom O'Dell has a lovely little shop on Calvert Avenue called O'Dell's and had his own pop up last night inside the Other shop – A pop up within a pop up I guess!
There were lots of nice pieces on offer, the OTHER X Lee collaboration featured some really nice scribble prints and some super cute cut off denim shirts which I saw a few people modelling through the course of the evening. The scribble prints were also echoed in Saskia Pomeroy's lovely ceramic bowls which priced from £15 were a pretty good bargain.
If you are ever stuck with what to get your boyfriend, dad, man friend (which I often am) then O'Dell's is perfect. The P.F soy candles made in L.A come in a range of scents, my favourite being the teak and tobacco. The brown glass pots they come in also great a warm woody glow when lit. Beard comb, moustache comb or for those follically challenged handmade sunglasses and pocket squares, there is something for everyone. Definitely worth a look in if you're out and about in Covent Garden or if you miss the pop up then head to the store online - here.
Hibernating...
As winter starts to actually feel like winter in London, the air is icy and the only coats you end up wearing make you look like a bear I always start to feel a bit like hibernating, living under a duvet with a hot water bottle and some mulled wine for company.
This is my Love list of new things that have caught my eye lately, comfy, warm or just nice to look at. I am really trying not to buy anything at the moment as I will shortly be moving and my money needs to be spent on fun things like doorknobs and lightbulbs…still reckon I can probably get my fix with a couple of primary coloured socks from Uniqlo.
You can't go wrong with dungarees, well in my eyes you can't. The cut of these A.P.C ones are perfect, teemed with a vintage t-shirt, some wooly socks and a cup of tea – you have yourself the perfect hibernating, lazy Sunday outfit.
As the chill continues I find myself constantly wearing multiple forms of knitwear. If you are looking for THE wooly hat then look no further than the North Circular an amazing knitwear brand set up by my friend Katherine. Each hat is hand knitted and made of sustainable fibres in the UK. They also look awesome, have a giant bobble and keep your head nice and warm.
This 'Oui', 'Non' t-shirt from label L'es Ecole Des Femmes which I saw in Sarah de Mavaleix's wardrobe when styling her for, 'a postcard from…' and instantly had T-shirt envy over
My friend Sabina is always buying nice things from Graham and Green so thought I would have a little look at the website and stumbled across this spotted water bottle and cups.
I have found my dream jumper in the form of this one from The Row….however it's from The Row so it will remain a dream.
Constantly stealing my boyfriends Uniqlo socks I have finally decided that maybe I should by some of my own. They come in a multitude of colours and would look great paired with heels.
The idea of having various vases of flowers scattered around my house filled with flowers may be a pipe dream but think this Koromiko spotted vase would be a great start to the collection.
Finally I just want some simple gold hoops and H.Samuel always does the job, I like this slightly more chunky pair.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN
Happy Halloween!!! Here is a new shoot I styled for photographer Gemma Booth's super project - A Postcard From, check it out here.
Had a really fun day dressing up the lovely Brogan Loftus in various outfits as well as giving her some taxidermy tarantulas to carry. All in a days work for a model!
