"I haven't had blood in weeks."

Leta blinked concerned, looking to him for a moment before grabbing his hand and leading him to the couch. She still had yet to really adjust to the fact that he was a vampire, not that she had a discomfort around him or a disliking of beings, though she was more worried and shocked. He was still Newt. That was all that mattered. And now Newt needed her.
“Okay.. Okay.. Do you have a stash somewhere?” She smiled nervously, wanting to try and get him to relax, to be lying down. They could fight on why he hadn’t had blood later. Now she needed to get him ill before he got sick or passed out or worse. “What can I do?”
Newt allows himself to be laid on the couch, his skin cool and near translucent. Normally warm and caring hazel eyes replaced with deep crimson. His mouth barely able to close as his fangs press outwards. He shakes his head, "No, I don't have a stash...with the war on, I can't afford to take from the blood banks that I usually take from. I don't want to cost someone their life..."
His eyes close for a moment and he inhales deeply through his mouth, trying to avoid the mouthwatering aroma of Leta's blood in her veins. The sound of her blood like a song to his heightened hearing, and the sight of her pulse at her throat making him wince in want. He may not be able to block the sound of her blood from his ears, but if he just breathes through his mouth and keeps his eyes shut...the urge will pass and it will be alright.
"I'll be alright...I've gone longer without blood before...it's just dangerous for me to be around my creatures...I-that's why I came over actually. I was going to ask if you could look after them until I can get this under control again." His words are measured and carefully spoken as he tries to avoid inhaling through his nose.
