So the Aphrodite origin story that I grew up with was when Kronos cut off Uranus's dick and threw it in the ocean and his Man Stuff created Aphrodite.
I know there's the story where she's just the daughter of Zeus and Dione, but I personally like the Uranus's Dick story better. Because I think it gives aphrodite the power that she deserves, which a lot of people don't give her credit for because of how she's portrayed in media.
The Uranus origin story would make her a primordial being on par with Kronos, family-tree-wise and most likely power-wise. And I just think that Aphrodite is too often portrayed as this horny, mean-girl type.
I just personally feel like Aphrodite being this cosmic embodiment of love, of all types and of beauty of all types makes more sense for her domain. Because love is a very versatile term depending on the context. There's familial love, romantic love, friend love.
And there's, you know, modern conventional beauty. And there's unconventional beauty, and there's beauty in places where you would never think to look, and there's beauty right in front of you. And would it be too weird to contribute that to her?
TL;DR
If Aphrodite is technically the daughter of Uranus she would be Kronos' sister and probably just as strong. It might even be safe to assume that all facets of beauty and love in the world are attributed to her solely.
