Finally watched all three seasons of Good Omens. I am not ok.
Happy @mygangtome Day!! It’s been years, my friends, but I couldn’t resist making something for the 20th anniversary of this special little show. And if you know me, you know I gotta rep the trio that is Team Castle.
I’ve met some wonderful people and friends in this fandom, and even if I don’t post about it as much, it will always be special to me.
Still making my way through everything that has been posted for Robin Hood day 2026, but this is already my absolute favourite. Yay for Team Castle! So happy to see you drew them again, Erin. They will always be my favourite team. 😍
The Robin Hood fandom has brought me much joy over the years. I've had to become more of a lurker over the years, not taking part in any fandom much really. But RH has always been close to my heart. For "Robin Hood day 2026" I have published a story over on AO3 I have written ages ago. I've never put it out there, it was just for the joy of writing it and putting my thoughts and feelings about Allan and Guy on paper. But here it is. Either on Ao3 or just under the cut.

Happy Robin Hood day, @mygangtome
Synosis: Allan runs away from work and Guy finds him.

A man who loves to read is a man who I love.
"He's very intelligent, very well read and fantastically empathetic. Honestly, he's one of the great human beings in my life."
— John Wells, executive producer of "ER" and "The Pitt", on his long relationship with actor Noah Wyle.
Le sigh.
I'm looking at my old drafts and maybe I can get something together to post on ao3 for this. Feeling very nostalgic.
the fact that i'm no longer the same age as the protagonists of novels and films i once connected to is so heartbreaking. there was a time when I looked forward to turning their age. i did. and i also outgrew them. i continue to age, but they don't; never will. the immortality of fiction is beautiful, but cruel.

It's time to determine by popular vote...

Fox!Robin Hood from the Disney cartoon his not here because he did not qualify for the tournament proper; do not @ me. For more info see our Oft Asked Questions.
Excuse me, but how is this even a question? Cary Elwes is without a doubt the hottest Robin Hood.
Just read about Tom Lehrer passing and I am genuinely sad. His songs have played a very important part in my life and actually were a decicive factor in a mayor life decision. May his music and his incredible wit and talent bring joy to people for many years to come. May his memory be a blessing.
I need my fangirls to scream over these with me. Put your eardrum-shattering screeches and moans in the comments!
I just finished reading “Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell”.
I am delighted and distraught in equal measures.
It’s been a week since I’ve seen Constellations and briefly met the most excellent nose in existence, so I will try to get my act together now (something I didn’t manage on the day) and write a small summary of the day.
I went to London by bus, depending on the trafic this takes between 70 and an unspecified number of minutes from Oxford. Of course on the day that I went, there was the Gay Pride Parade in London, which meant that some streets were closed and I couldn’t get off the bus at Baker Street as intended, but had to go to Marble Arch. Which was ok, because it was only noon when I got to London and I had planned to walk around a bit and go to a museum.
My plans got slightly altered because I happened upon the parade route and couldn’t cross to the other side. Supposedly there were crossing points but somehow nobody ever crossed there. No idea what was going on. Anyways, so I enjoyed the parade for a bit and it was quite fun. I saw so many beautiful and happy people and the atmosphere was great. Kinda makes you want to believe in humanity, despite knowing what bastards we all can be.
As you can see, everything was really colourful and slightly confused but great fun. And I saw the queen. Well, a queen, but I like the one I saw better than the real one.
That queen had so much elegance and poise and the most happy smile most of the time.
Anyways, so I walked a great deal of the route myself because I was trying to find a way to go to the other side and finally managed to do so at Picadilly Circus. Then I went to Trafalgar Square, not knowing that this was were the real party was happening. I wanted to visit the National Gallery but it was closed. So I went to the Portrait Gallery instead, which I hadn’t been in before, so I was ok.
After walking around there for two hours I decided to get myself a snack and start my journey to Richmond. Surprisingly enough I managed the journey via Waterloo without hickup and even managed to find the Richmond Theatre in time to sit a bit in the sun and get really excited. This is the lovely ceiling of the theatre.
Then there was the play, which was brilliant and very fast paced and Joe and Louise did an amazing job with the very fast scene changes. At the end, Louise looked happy, while Joe barely cracked a smile.
So off to the stage door and I got really nervous again. Lucky for me I met some girls to chat with and that helped not to completely lose it. At least at that point. Then Louise came out and she is absolutely tiny! She gave autographs and took pictures (I didn’t ask for one because she looked so tired) and she called everybody ‘darling’ and was very sweet. She also told us that Joe would be coming out soon and when she had dealt with everybody walked away.
Some of the people left, so it was maybe six girls left waiting. And then finally Joe came out of the door. He tried to pretend he hadn’t seen us waiting opposite of the door (Real good one, Joe. I mean, honestly man.) and made a beeline to get away. That was the point where I lost my cool. I called “Excuse me, Joe!” and hurried across the street with my program and pen in hand. He looked at me slightly surprised and I lost all my ability to speak coherent english. I garbled something about signing while I held out my pen and program and he smiled and took them. I kept saying sorry, he must be tired, what with the play being so fast paced and intense and he said yes, because they had been doing the play twice that day. I said that I hoped he still had fun and he answered, not really, the show that evening hadn’t been good. (So that was why he looked so grumpy at the end.) He asked me for my name and signed my program and then other people wanted theirs to be signed and I stepped aside. I wish I could have said a few of the things that I had really wanted to say to him, but I had missed my window. Well, no use crying over spilled milk.
I then travelled back to Baker Street to catch my bus and after three hours waiting (no kidding, it was one in the morning) finally got on a bus that wasn’t filled up with people coming back from the Gay Pride Parade. By that time I was so tired I almost cried but I got back home and happily sank into bed.
What can I say? Joe is, from up close, much smaller than I thought. He isn’t much taller than me with my 5 feet 4, but has quite broad shoulders and looks well fit. (Mmmh, his butt in those trousers....) He has got very, very blue eyes and does look oddly different than on stage. I mean, I was really close to the stage so I had a pretty good look at him and his expressions are completely different when he is not acting. It was really interesting to see this private side of him. He was still damn gorgeous.
So, that was my happy day of meeting Joe Armstrong and I wouldn’t want to have missed that for anything in the world.
How did you learn to draw?

sylvi10 said: Master and Commander is pretty much my happy place. I’m so excited that you love it so much, too! I’ve only read a couple of the books so far.
Yay, a fellow aubreyad fan! I haven’t met one yet here on tumblr, so I’m really happy to hear that somebody else loves Master and Commander as well. Do you remember how you came to watch it for the first time? For me it was my sister forcing me to sit down and watch a movie set on a boat and I was like, seriously? Do we have to? And then I fell utterly in love with. I have lost count of how many times I have seen that movie since then. It is so wonderful and everything about it is just prime, the cast, the costumes, the setting, the music... I could rave for hours about the beauty of the music!
And then there’s these two...
Paul Bettany is a treasure and the way he and Russell Crowe portrait this unlikely friendship is just beautiful to watch.
And the books are equally fantastic. It takes a bit time to get your head around all that nautical jargon but it’s so worth it! There is so much humour and warmth in these books, especially when it comes to Stephen and Jack’s friendship. Not to mention that there are all sorts of silly things happening, like sloths getting debauched and people dressing up as bears...
Honestly, to anyone who doesn’t know the movie, it is so worth watching and if you don’t mind working a bit for your pleasure, the books will bring you hours of joy.
I was tagged by iremainwanderingwitless, this is a fairly short one so here it goes.
One song: “Sonne” by Rammstein, because the sun is shining for a change!
Two movies: I have bought recently: “Master and Commander“ (loveitloveitloveit! Everybody should watch that. And read the books. And buy them. Multiple times!) and “Constantine” (I have adored Keanu Reeves ever since I was 13 probably.)
Three shows: That defined my childhood and adolesence: Bonanza (yay, cowboys and horses!), Star Trek TOS (Captain Sexy Pants, Pointy Ears and Dr. McCranky safe the universe. What’s not to love?) and Friends (my best friend got me into it and I always associate it with her).
Four people: that mean the world to me: My two brothers and two sisters. The most wonderful siblings a girl could ask for. I love them like crazy.
Five foods: Strawberries, chocolate, pizza, crisps, pasta
Six people to tag: ulrikafjellborg, phantomdrawingbooth, somanyguys, avengingphoenix, mmmfandoms and thepassiveaggressiveraven
