Why when Republican Americans seem so eager to keep their population the same, their healthcare system the same and their gun control laws the same are they so eager to see their climate change?

No matter how the leadership of this country goes in the next election, we're all boned. Conservative win; things stay how they are (which although it isn't bad for me, I do understand that a fair lot of people aren't doing great) New labour win; things change, and get better for a while until they start borrowing more money from my generation's future taxes and pensions and people lose their jobs because, let's face it, the Labour Party always bankrupts the country. The Liberal Democrats win; everything goes wrong rather quickly while Nick Clegg insists that the world is a happy nice place and everything will be alright. The Green Party wins; see above. UKIP win; we all die in a nuclear holocaust as Nigel Farrage declares war on the rest of the world. And NO MATTER who is in charge, be they Cameron, Milliband or Clegg, the whole lot of them continue to make themselves more powerful and more rich while their citizens continue to pay for it. Hung parliament anyone?

wouldn't it be a glorious day when, after a general election shows no outright winners, all the political parties decided to form a unilateral parliament, compromising their own political ideals and ambitions in favour of the good of the country, and sitting and discussing the issues, and developing and enacting solutions to those issues based on their merit rather than their political ramifications? 

y'know, as opposed to the current state of senseless school-yard bickering that permeates the stale and frankly outdated "left/right" political system that occurs in British Politics today.
