Undermining the Establishment one outfit at a time.
I started this Tumblr account to share what I've been doing on my creative blog called Thrifty Subversion.
With this account, I plan to share each and every post from the beginning (2021) of my blog through queued posts here, as well as reblogging other's Tumblr posts that are relevant or inspiring to my creative side.
My style is bold with a mix of both bright & dark. My cosplay characters have all been movie characters (thus far) with an emphasis on horror and 1990s movies. My budget is low as I am just a one-person operation. I thrift, reuse, repair, and upcycle frequently. I share posts of how I'm organizing my house & my mom's house & belongings on a budget. I also share how I DIYed crafts, jewelry, and clothing items.
I'm hoping that I can connect with people on Tumblr through our common interests. My main is @animalcopingnewhorizons and I haven't branched out of the Animal Crossing Community on Tumblr, so if you're a fashion, cosplay, DIY, etc. account, feel free to comment or message so I can follow back. 💞
the people who enjoy the type of art you create, will like it even if it's imperfect. and the people who hate the type of art you create, will dislike it even if it IS perfect.
don't skip ahead of bullies and bully yourself first. don't badmouth your own work, it doesn't alter other people's opinion on art, but it does make you feel worse about yourself.
tutorial !! on how to make a belt pouch from some old pants that will be able to hold a brick or two without ripping
examples: (both r about 23cm × 20cm)
start tutorial 》》
you'll need:
•old pants/shorts
•scissors
•needle and thread/sewing machine
•safety pins/sewing pins
•anything for closing, like buttons, clips or zippers
•stuff for decorating: patches, pins, studs etc.
-
to start we will disassemble our pants, you will harvest from its corpse:
•two rectangles from the ass of the pants with the asspockets (the size of these rectangles decides the size of ur pouch)
•two pieces of the waistband both about 15cm in length
•a piece of fabric as wide as the other two panels, length depends on ur preference, this part will the the closing panel of the pouch
for all of these please take seam allowance into account.
hem the top edges of your back and front panel and all edges of your closing panel. i used double straight stitch on the sewing machine to match the stitching present in the pants.
now you will attach the closing panel to the outside of panel that will be the back of your pouch (see image).
you might be confused that the outside of the panel is the inside of the pants. this is because the pocket on the back panel will be on the inside of the pouch. and thus the outside of the pants become the inside of the pouch. (also you can see that the closing flap looks different from the first picture, this is because i decorated it alr. so just ignore that)
then attach your belt loops, first attach the "front of the beltloop, facing down, to the place where you also joined the closing flap and rectangle together. then fold the beltloop back and sew the other side slightly lower than the top. this will prevent it from bulking too much and pressing uncomfortably into your waist.
now place your front panel on top of your back panel, and sewing it wrong sides together. this is because we will turn it inside out after.
now turn your pouch inside out and sew along the edges to help keep its shape and keep it sturdy.
you can attach a closing to the pouch, like buttons and buttonholes, i went for a clip and loop mechanism this time. if you prefer a zipper i advise putting it in when you hem the edges at the start of the project.
and now you can decorate! if you want a tutorial on how i do/plan all that, lmk if that would be helpful or interesting in any way.
I don’t even want to write a review of “Top Gun: Maverick” honestly, I’ve seen 1,500+ movies and I’ve never finished one that left me more depressed about the future of this country. I just want to stop thinking about it
The White House just shared a video using footage from “Top Gun: Maverick” right before real footage of US bombs hitting Iran. I am sorry to announce that I have been 100% vindicated in my views on this movie.
read one time that bonobos and humans are the only animals that mate face to face, which is false and the writer must have used an unnecessarily restrictive definition of "animals," because millipedes also mate face to face
How do I know this? well i turned over some leaves one time and mistakenly exposed a millipede couple in the throes of passion. was worried at first that they were eating each other or something but I looked it up and thats how they have sex
Ragwort is officially the first plant I’ve gathered in our new life. Based on the quick research I did this morning it’s perfect for my little mini-altar.
