Sleeping on the dining chair as everyone else gets ready for bed.
Hngr
i have cried so many times the past few days just because of this movie
Doing stuff "childish" is okay and even good actually
- If using plates and silverware meant for kids means you will eat more often and/or find more joy out of eating, good! *
- If using a divided plate means you are going to feel more comfortable eating, good!
- If having a water bottle with your favorite character/show on it means you are going to drink more water, good!
- If having children's toothbrushes and toothpaste means you are going to brush your teeth more often, good!
- If watching tooth brushing videos aimed at kids makes brushing more enjoyable/helps prompt you to brush correctly, good!
- If taking a stuffed animal or other toy out with you means you are going to feel a little safer, good!
- If using a nightlight (esp one with characters on it) makes you feel safer and helps you sleep better, good!
- If you find coloring in books made for children/simpler pictures more enjoyable, good!
- If decorating your living space with "childish" things with characters or bright colors is going to make your space more enjoyable/usable, good!
- If using organization systems and prompts aimed at children is going to help you actually use them, good!
- If you enjoy media aimed at children, and it brings you joy and makes your days a little easier, good!
No matter what your age is, you are allowed to use the things that bring joy into your life or make your life easier to manage. You do not need to "grow up" or "do it like an adult". You can do it in whatever way works best for you. There should be no shame in it. I think some of us want to beat the allegations that autism makes us more "childlike" thinking it makes us more palatable, when having "age-inappropriate interests" are a commonly known trait. It is normal to have autistic traits when you have autism. You don't need to hide it or pretend you don't. Yes I know not all autistics are interested in this stuff either but that's not my focus
* also there have been studies done that people tend to absorb more nutrition from foods they enjoy, so you are doing yourself a huge favor by making eating fun!
I think some of you people need to google amatonormativity… and like, think about it.
you can actually desire a traditional romantic relationship AND unpack amatonormative ideas within your mind and life. they are not mutually exclusive!
i feel so defensive and protective of people with ARFID like if i had a disorder that made my brain register 90% of food as poison for no reason and i had a bazillion people on the internet constantly calling me a manchild who needs to just grow up and stop being a picky eater i would start killing people
people with ARFID and people with very few autism safe foods and people with contamination OCD and people in ED recovery and everyone else with a complicated relationship with food that no one takes seriously GET BEHIND ME!!!!!!!
i got inspired by antique furniture -> decided to try and make a wooden doll.
she is whittled entirely out of balsa wood with a craft knife, and colored with wood dye. the cabinet has miniature hinges made of tube beads and a metal rod, and closes with a magnet. she absolutely should hold a sentimental & important object, but i don't have any that are the correct size, so i just put in some cute trinkets.
i call this one “using tumblr as a person of color”
might update with more images at some point
Some of the ones I've accumulated
I want to see more polyamory pride this pride month i'm serious. Stop being weird about people with multiple partners polyamory is awesome and beautiful and queer
@bread-lord-khubz this has the vibes of a legendary post

It’s finally happened.
After almost a decade on this site, I found another Tumblr user in the wild. I stopped to tie my shoe with rainbow laces this morning outside the silversmith at Colonial Williamsburg, and I heard it.
“I like your shoelaces.”
Oh. Oh no.
I responded the only way I could. “Thanks.” And then I reluctantly added, “I stole them from the president…and if that makes sense to you, I’m very sorry.”
The poor man, in full Colonial dress, stared at me for a long moment. And then burst into laughter. And said, “I haven’t thought about that in YEARS and this has never happened to me before.”
Yeah. Me neither. Not until today.
Tumblr rite of passage. Achievement unlocked.
@victoriansecret I found your friend!!!
the fact that you’re still here and still trying, i can’t tell you how much that matters. it’s actually everything
He's been here the whole time!
Who's obsessed with winning, determined, and every day gets psychologically tested by the whims of the game? It's Candace, clearly.
Now I see what *you're* saying, but 1: I don't think Buford has the ability to take a game of the mind as seriously and *personally* as Brennan, and 2: I can really only see Buford occupying a Lou Wilson or perhaps even a Zac Oyama role.
Being asexual and racist is embarassing as fuck. Being racist at all is obviously embarassing as fuck but the amount of racism and especially antiblackness i have been seeing from asexuals recently is obscene.
One of the only asexual activists is Yasmin Benoit, a Black woman. She has raised so much awareness for the community. She was the first asexual person to lead Pride in London, she started the #thisiswhatasexuallookslike movement and is THE leading voice for the community.
And you all will celebrate international asexuality day on April 6th but we wouldn't even have that if she hadn't cofounded it.
Edit: why are you all too scared to repost this. Cmon. Be vocal about being against racism
#i’m losing my SHIT#would you like to not see a dog?#it’s brown Thank you, @dreamwaffles, that’s it EXACTLY 😂
Like... I know there's asterisks to everything. At the end of the day as long as people are healthy in the way they conduct their lives and live with others I don't think there's much to fear. And personally, I could also just've kept living on my own and been fine. But still. Been thinking about it lately and I saw a lot of pros, and that's been nice to think about.
(Edit from the next morning: Fixed some of the wording in the introduction line to try and make it more inclusive and representative, in a way that's hopefully more acceptable. Unfortunately I can't fix it on my other socials as easily 'cus most social media besides this one suck when it comes to editing anything, but if it's suitable, this is the wording I'll go with whenever re-issuing this anywhere. Thanks for your patience and apologies for the hiccups when I legit don't think enough.)
