open to: anyone.
location: outside the main entrance of the campus, near the trees where people usually take lunch.
bianca was hardly ever seen without a camera in her hands. it wasn’t that she didn’t care about living in the moment, she just liked catching other people in theirs a little more. she was working on a new project, still unsure where the inspiration was supposed to come from, as she snapped a photo of a couple of students lounging beneath a nearby tree. she stepped back slowly to get a better angle, eyes still on her viewfinder, and bumped into someone before she even fully turned around. “oh, shit. i’m so sorry.”
trixie's eyes widened when she caught sight of the camera. "oh my god, is there like a michu campus photo campaign thing going on today?" she just got out of a lecture! she so wasn't ready. "wait, can you give me a moment to freshen up?"
open starter for @ anyone
winter stood next to the staircase of the main building of mitchu with a stack of papers in her hand, a smile greeted everyone that passed by her and she extended her hand to offer one of the papers. a pout fleetingly passed her features as people ignored but the smile prevailed over, as a person stopped to take the flyer she perked up " hi, just starting a new club, if you're interested my phone number is on there ! "
trixie actually let out a groan when she saw what club this was. trivia club. "i'm sorry. i don't know what you saw," she said, well aware that clips of her child prodigy era were still very much out there online. "but i don't do that stuff anymore. i'm way more focused on hockey these days."
⸺ ft. trixie !
She looks to the side then back at Trixie. "Yeah?.." A pause. "Have you never skipped before?"
"Of course I've missed classes," Trixie sputters out, stumbling over her words. "It's just... for no good reason? Being sleepy isn't exactly an emergency."
just players. it’s a hilarious boundary for her to draw when she spends nearly half of every practice staring a hole through the side of romy's face. romy couldn't let trixie's nerves crowd their head - not here, and definitely not on the ice. they tried not to give much thought to why trixie tended to shove them back to a safe distance. if she wanted to pretend to just be numbers on a jersey, romy could play that game even better. "not your doctor, not your coach and sure as hell not your keeper; if you want to be a stubborn martyr, be my guest. play on." romy steps back, clearing the path and gesturing toward the field with a tilt of their head. as the girl concedes, romy nods in agreement as the tension in their jaw relaxes. a burden. it resonates with them, never being given a moment to err. though the feeling was a familiar one, it doesn't hang in the air long before trixie backtracks with a compliment. the words hit romy under the unbothered posture, their stubborn pride sparking at the praise. "you're a good teammate, trixie. now shut up and let me be one." they struggled to understand where they stood with trixie, being pushed and pulled - they weren't even sure they were friends. what they did know was that they cared about their teammates, this was a mechanical error, and they knew how to help. that was comprehensible, that was simple. they gesture with their thumb over their shoulder to the parking lot. "i have cold packs and tape in the car, hobble over." romy walks toward the car at a slightly slower pace than usual, then unlocks it and swings the second row door open for trixie to sit down.
NIGHTMARE SCENARIO: being alone in a car with your crush while you're not doing great in like... any manner. ankle aside, trixie is on edge. she's so anxious and restless about things lately that she feels like curling into herself and not interacting with anyone for a week. "can i... um... can i assist you? if i can be useful, tell me how." that's all she really wants to be right now. useful. and she'll try, even with the sprain, and even though romy looks so distractingly gorgeous right now that she almost wishes they'd stay far away.
there's a chuckle that bubbles within their chest, head shaking from side to side. “ i warned you that the punch is deadly, you're gonna be feeling that aftermath for more than a month. ” body leans back in their seat. “ did you have fun at least? ”
"more than a month?" trixie shudders. that doesn't sound right, like scientifically. but she supposes there are grains of truth in folk wisdom. just not too much, she hopes. "it was... fun, i believe." in her head, she's mulling over data points. some people flirted with her, she's pretty sure. got some nice photos with people smiling and such. she can't help but try to be objective about something that can't really be measured.
" me ? oh , no ... well , i mean yeah ... but i literally just ramble , it's so fine ! " the blonde dismissed herself casually , already forgetting herself what she'd been babbling on about . " yikes ... yeah , those parties can be like one big sweaty , drunken marathon . did you take tylenol before you went to sleep ? down a glass of water ? if not , there's your problem ! "
"i kinda sorta fell asleep in a bathtub," trixie admitted sheepishly. "that one's on me, i know." she sighed, trying to make up for it by drinking as much liquid as she could. "how about you? feeling better than i do, i hope?"
⸺ ft. trixie !
She rolls her eyes lightly, not necessary at Trixie, but mostly because she had to repeat herself. "Why don't you just skip class and go sleep?"
Trixie actually freezes for a moment. "Um..." Brows furrow in genuine confusion. "You can just do that?"
the explanation shockingly makes sense; creativity in a different way than her own. unlike her present company, daniela would most likely go home and document her experience tonight with a journal entry. pictures were never her strong suit, but words were something she would allow called her specialty. “ no, i get it. a way to just keep track of things you experience: big or small. ” eyes peek down at her sneakers, moving her ankles slightly before shrugging. “ you can take a picture of my beer-stained sneakers if it'll help. ”
trixie is relieved that the other brunette seems to understand completely. and when she gives the go signal to take a photo of her shoes, trixie is so overjoyed she's aware she must look ridiculous. "oh gosh, yeah, i - yeah!" her phone emits a flash as she snaps the pic. "and of course, your face as well - would that be okay? if i take a photo of your face too, i mean?"
she stops her words abruptly and looks at trixie with a chuckle " i was, but if i'm boring you i can stop. " she jokes. noticing the yawn she leans closer " you alright, trix ? " sloane laughs and shakes her head. " a girl can dream, babe, but we still have practice to go to. "
"do you think it's worth trying to squeeze a nap in? taking into account the approximately 10-minute walk, we've got 15 minutes." trixie sighs. "how do you look so chipper? that's unfair," she whines, mostly joking.
fee picks and flicks lazily at the plate in front of her . her head pounding to it’s own rhythm as she rests cheek in hand . ❝ i wasn’t saying anything . ❞ she half grumbled , she’d drank far too much the night prior and was severely regretting it now .
"oh." for a moment, trixie just stares. "i don't know how you can look so put-together right now, fee. i look like shit." even without checking the mirror, she feels like it. taking a swig of her dr. pepper, she says, "well, at least i got some good pics that night."
romy sees the violent tilt of trixie's ankle before even processing the slip. and not a second later, she was attempting to stand up again. "shit." they curse under their breath as they head toward trixie. romy knew a sudden inversion like that could've easily caused an ankle sprain, or worse, something bad enough to take trixie off the rink if she put weight on it right now. "hang on, bambi. that didn't look good." romy intercepts trixie's path and kneels down to get a better look. they reach their hands out, cupping and raising her heel. they place a thumb with precision against the hollow of her ankle bone. "does this hurt?" they raise their gaze after a moment back up to trixie, before standing up to meet her again. "not that i'm a doctor or anything yet, but i think you might need ice on your ankle, rather than under it."
trixie stiffens under their touch. partly due to nerves, partly because of the stupid, stupid things she feels for her teammate, that she often does her best to push down... and partly because yes, it does hurt. "you're right. you're not a doctor," she mutters. "you don't have to be one during practice, romy. i'm a player and you're a player. that's it." she's well aware of the complications that not treating a sprained ankle could bring, though, so she sighs and concedes, "let's get some ice on this and then bam, we're back. okay?" voice lowers. "i don't wanna be a burden." the moment the words leave her mouth, she regrets them - she doesn't wanna sound self-pitying. "you know what i mean. i don't feel sorry for myself. you deserve a good teammate, 'cause you're incredible."
open to anyone, anywhere on campus that fits.
"i'm sorry, were you talking to me?" trixie yawns. she feels... well, not even hungover. just... exhausted. "i swear, we should be able to take the whole month off after a big party."
trixie was reserved. at least in the sense that she kept her cards close to her chest. maybe that was part of why winnie liked her so much. she never pried, never pushed, never crossed lines that weren't hers to cross. still, something had shifted, at least on winnie's end. she'd grown unexpectedly fond of her roommates and the quiet companionship they offered. the awkward distance she'd clung to when they first moved in together had slowly worn away, replaced by something far more comfortable. " i gotchu, " she replied, already pulling out her phone and opening the app to place the order. as she scrolled through the menu, she glanced up. " how's everything going with the team this year ? " when she'd first arrived at michigan, she couldn't have cared less about hockey. she'd been far too consumed by lectures, lab reports, and maintaining the grades expected of her. but somewhere along the way that changed. now she found herself at nearly every game, especially when there was someone in particular she was there to support.
trixie blew-dry her soaking wet hair. despite how exhausted she was, she simply couldn't just go to bed without taking a bath first. it was her routine when the weather got chillier. "thanks, babe," she said. "did you order something for yourself too?" she fought a yawn, to little avail. "i'm trying to improve my stamina." she didn't have any complaints about the others; some part of her considered herself the weak link of sorts. especially with how sensitive she was to things like the coldness of the ice. "but yeah, we're all just determined and doing our best." she turned to the other girl. "you? how are things lately? your planner's been looking pretty colorful."
" can't wait to make them cry ! " sloane chuckles and shakes her head. noticing trixie's attention wandering around the room she squeezes the other's hand to offer solace " wait, you're right we are missing karaoke. well that's the nicest thing everyone has ever said to me. " she wipes off a fake tear from her eye " because your voice is incredible, " she giggles " and i am an incredible dancer ! "
"the thought of men in tears brings me joy, truly." trixie lets out a sigh, head dropping to lean on sloane's shoulder. "i'm not an incredible singer. i have so much, like, jaw tension and my vowel shaping sucks." not that most people notice these things. they probably just think her voice sounds cute. she's aware of the technical things, but she still can't study her way into being a great singer. musicality and rhythm, they come naturally to people. not trixie, though. "but that's true. you're an incredible dancer." she giggles. "i wish i could steal your groove like i'm ursula from the little mermaid!"
"now you're just trying to flatter me." sammy teased, a small smirk appearing on her lips as a result. she truly loved her team, more than anything in the world honestly. "okay, i'm convinced. let's take the damn thing together so that we can show off our outfits on your socials and all."
"no, it's true! you're the best captain." trixie moved closer to sammy before training the front camera on them. she gave it the brightest smile that she could. "3, 2, 1..." her thumb finally pressed the snap button. "and another? or...?"

"i'm fine, i'm fine," trixie immediately says, rising up from the grass. so she slipped and fell and got ever so slightly injured, so what. she can't even go to the clinic for this. "i don't know why i'm practicing on grass anyway. do you wanna come with me to the rink? we can be more productive there."
