A day later than expected, but at last, Ippatsuman is now on the HiDive streaming service completely subbed! Unfortunately this like many streaming services is region limited so those outside the United States may have to find some form of workaround... fingers crossed that one day we get a physical release too.

In some real big news, HIDIVE will be adding an officially subbed release of Ippatsuman to their streaming service this June 23rd! The amount of subbed Time Bokan is still low, and while Ippatsuman was being fansubbed it never hurts to have more options...

Today marks the 50th anniversary of Time Bokan's first episode airing! October 4th, 1975 was when a silly show about some time traveling heroes facing off against a trio of baddies first hit audiences via Fuji TV. I don't think anyone watching expected what they were watching to completely change the face of pop culture...

When I initially won this set of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom production art, along with the Ryuusei art I’ve posted previously, I was keeping it under wraps a bit, since I knew I was going to use a few for V-Day contest prizes. But now I realize I never really did make a post to show off the overall set! I only showed off what was given away in the raffle during the V-Day rules post. Guess I might as well rectify that tonight.

So once again, these are from Volnutt’s ending in the Japanese version game, prior to the anime cutscene. Not to be confused with the Western edition that had ending art done by UDON. Here you can see a little bit of the process and development of the three separate scenes, which also include Doronjo and her lackies. They may all have big letter D’s plastered on their masks, but it’s not because they are the best diggers/duggers of treasure…

Voice Actress Noriko Ohara Dies at 88

Ohara voiced Doraemon's Nobita, Future Boy Conan's title role

Within the Time Bokan franchise, Noriko Ohara is most well known for her roles playing the various female bosses of the trios through the shows: Marjo (Time Bokan), Doronjo (Yatterman), Muujo (Zenderman), Atasha (Otasukeman), Mirenjo (Yattodetaman), Mun-Mun (Ippatsuman), Yanyan (Itadakiman), and Rouge (Kiramekiman). She would return to voice the character/s in any role after, including the 2008 Yatterman series, and providing the final line in the last episode of Yoru no Yatterman, where her voice as Doronjo can be heard wishing her descendant Leopard, "Good night, sweet dreams".

Her iconic line of "Sukapontan!", used when yelling at her bumbling two lackeys was an ab-lib that combined Sukatan (stupid) and Anpontan (fool) because she felt the original choice of insult in the script was a little too harsh for a kid's show like Time Bokan.
