This is one of my favorite quotes, if only i could remember where i heard/read it from. It means the opposite of its shortened counterpart, “blood is thicker than water”. It means that friends that were chosen as family have stronger connection than biological family ties.

Thinking about the tmnt 2007 movie again. How even apart Raph and Leo were basically doing the same thing. Being vigilantes, trying to help people. Even if Leo likes to act like it, and has to be responsible. Even when he did miss his brothers. All alone in the jungle he was doing the same thing Raph was doing while they were apart. I don't care what anyone says that's some next level soulmates shit. It's just even when at their cores they are different, they are so much alike too. They fucking think alike and do the same thing without even realizing it.
