He didn’t think so of himself. He struggled in his early days because he wasn’t the classic hollywood hero - blonde, blue eyes type. In Mind Meld, he talks about how he was angry that he wasn’t taken seriously and that the Shatner kind of looks were the ones in demand. Only much later did he feel at peace with this bias people showed.

Interestingly, given all the Chris in Hollywood nowdays, nothing much has changed huh.

That is so sad, given the fact that Spock’s character was so popular and, well, loved by female fans, I would’ve thought he understood that many loved his looks!!!
