Me: I'm so exhausted and drained from my chronic pain that I'll sleep well tonight
My body:
Remembering when I was first diagnosed with a chronic illness and thought that doctors were going to treat me
sorry i got scared by the passage of time. can yuo hold my hand
hello two thousand people who saw my post. we are all holding hands and braving the passage of time together
So im dealing with yet another misdiagnosis. But this time think i have the right one. Anyways gonna take some time away from tumblr while I try and deal with this fallout, yet again
happy new year, y’all
First appointment with my new neurologist tomorrow, fully preparing myself for the usual routine
Doctors will be always be so disappointed to see me again like "Jesus Christ it's this guy, I told him to just walk it off and live with the agony for another month and he's back in after 5 days, give it a REST" if you don't want to see me again you should prescribe me 500 oxys and a bottle of whisky and tell me to mix them, otherwise I'm gonna come back to shame you over and over again until you actually do something
It's your fucking job!
Crazy idea, but maybe, if you didn't want to deal with sick people, you shouldn't have become a doctor!
Arghhhh!
I wish my illness would it least be consistent
i hope everything gets easier soon. or at least funnier. amen

I think ive talked about this before but it is hard to not compare yourself to yourself when you are chronically ill/ dynamically disabled. Everybody is always asking if you feel better, saying you "look/seem" better. Even the pain scale is about comparing your now to when you've been at your worst
So nervous for my upcoming appointment. It could literally determine most of my future. Either way there is a good chance that I'll have my mental health get worse afterwards and its already not that great
"what if I'm faking it" I ask while struggling to eat becaise brain fog is slowing down my every function
If they claim they can cure your condition that you have been told is incurable, run. If they claim they cured themselves, run. If they claim they have cured everything from cancer to lupus holistically, run. If they claim you have to buy only supplements from them, run. If they claim they that only thing that will cure is x but x costs tons of money, run. If they refuse to run tests or address your diagnosed conditions before insisting you do an expensive treatment not covered by insurence, run. If they offer a one size fits all treatment/cure, run.
I have been scammed by "holistic" and "naturalistic" people before as a chronically ill person. In fact it was an actual doctor who went to medical school who scammed me for years. So watch out. If it seems too good to be true it probably is.

Here's a fun story about a guy who could "cure" cancer, using secret herbs and spices.
It's also a good way to see how they work, and how they prey on desperate people.
