I feel like everyone forgets that scene in OoTP when Ginny says Tonks taught her how to check for enchantments on doors.

Tonks, who was an Auror and an Order member, flat out told a 14 year old how to eavesdrop.

Remadora

Okay, so, I’m actually going to thank Jo for one thing, and that’s not killing one and leaving one alive when it came to remadora because…imagine…

Remus screaming over Tonks’ body. The body that only just carried his child. The body he only just slept beside, cuddled with, found solace in. His new wife. The mother to their brand new child. The child he’s going to have to spend the rest of his life comparing to her every time he changes his hair or trips over is own feet or begs to go to a WS reunion concert. And every full moon he has to take his son to his DEAD WIFES MOTHER and face her, feeling partially at fault for Dora’s death because…well, Dora couldn’t stand the idea of Remus fighting without her.

But worse. TONKS LOSING LUPIN. So say she stayed home with Teddy like she was asked. She kisses Lupin goodbye and tells him he better come back home to her and their son, obviously scared but truly believing that her husband could survive any battle, because it’s Remus Lupin, and he can survive anything. Only he doesn’t. And the next morning Kingsley comes to her doorstep and he can’t even say it, but Tonks knows. And she screams and cries in Kingsley’s arms because she spent less time married to her husband than she did chasing him and now she has to spend the rest of her life without him. So she goes to Teddy and she stays up the entire night clutching him close and crying and praying that Remus will just PLEASE walk through the door. But he doesn’t. And her hair is dull brown and her skin pales and every time she brings Teddy to the Weasley’s they wonder if they’ll ever see color in the woman again.

So thanks for being an all or nothing kind of woman, Jo.

She was only 7 years older than Harry

She was 13 years younger than Remus

She was extremely clumsy

She willingly left her newborn son to fight in the final battle, knowing she might never, because she believed it was the right thing to do

If there is anything I deeply regret didn’t make it from the Harry Potter books to the movies, it is the introduction of Tonks’ character by Remus in the 5th movie. Because the moment he called her Nymphadora, she freaked out, and he was very calm about it; I knew those two were going to be a thing. I also regret we couldn’t have the hospital scene in the 6th movie where we find out Tonks’ feelings were due to Remus because I screamed “I knew it!” when I read that and was so damn happy it was confirmed canon. But I understand why that entire thing was done differently.
