One of the most under appreciated MCU Spider-Man clips is the one where Happy is lowkey mocking Peter for it being his first time on a plane because he’s so annoyed by the fact he has to watch this hyperactive enhanced child and all I can imagine is the eventual embarrassment once he gets the run down from Tony that his ward was literally orphaned via plane crash.
MIND YOU PETER WAS ACTUALLY FREAKING OUT IN HIS VLOG CLIPS ITS SO FUNNY MAY COME GET YOUR NEPHEW 😭
———
Happy: what is it your first time flying a on private jet?
Peter: oh actually it’s my first time on an any plane! Haha…
Happy: …
Peter: …
Happy: ???
Peter: :/
———
Peter: do we get to meet the pilot?
Happy: oh no this is a self-flying plane.
Peter…this is a What?
———
Happy: are you gonna sit right there? Right next to me?
Peter: yes.
Happy standing to find a different seat
Peter: wait-
———
Peter horrified: should it be making that noise?
Happy asleep: …
Peter: …
———
Tony: soooo how did the flight go?
Happy: huh? It went fine.
Tony: Kay, I was just asking because you know…
Happy : ???
Tony: well since the kid might have been a little jumpy with the whole dead parents thing.
Happy: …
Tony: I mean there isn’t exactly another way to get to Germany so he was gonna have to deal with it but kids tend to be over sensitive about that kind of stuff-
Happy: …
Tony: And I strictly drive my own cars so I can understand he might not wanna fly in the vehicle that his parents died in.
Happy: …
———
Peter staring at the screen of his phone flabbergasted that Happy is actually calling him
Peter: ??? Hello?
Happy wide awake at 2 in the morning mortified:…I’m so sorry about the plane thing.
———
In another effort of breaking the cycle; Tony routinely tells Peter that he appreciates his company. That he not only loves the kid, but likes him. He just doesn’t say it in so many words.
They’re working in the lab and he’s looking at Peter’s corrections to a faulty design: “Wow, Parker, this is really impressive. You came up with this?”
They’re out ordering food and he’s piling on to the order, studying the way Peter bashfully shifts on his feet: “You sure that’s all you want? I’ll order you extra in case you get hungry. You like the number five, right?”
They’re in a bloodied hallway and he’s trying to hold Peter still, but the kid is drugged up and squirming, trying to look at the carnage behind him: “I know. Hey, it doesn’t matter. You did good, you’re real brave. Don’t look at them, look at me. Keep looking at me. I’m proud of you. Thank you for protecting us. You did a good job.”
You’re incredible. I remember. I love you. We’re almost there.
Tony Stark graduated MIT at 17. Chances are, he missed out on a lot of teenage experiences that regular kids were supposed to have. I'm talking everything from just sleepovers and after-school activities to bigger things like Prom.
Tony likes to see Peter do all of those little teenage things that a teenager needs to experience. He wants to do everything in his power to make sure that Peter actually gets to have all those things.
But because Tony never got to experience those things first-hand, he loves to hear Peter talking about all of it, and he enjoys being a part of it -- even as Peter's confidant. Yeah, kid, of course I'll attend your acadeca competition, just tell me where and when. Sure, bud, tell me all about the high school drama you overheard in the cafeteria today.
In an ideal world, Tony would be asking Peter all about how his date with MJ went. He would listen to the kid cheer from happiness when MJ agrees to go to prom together. He would sit there during Peter's graduation ceremony, clapping and crying right at May's side. He would be so excited to help Peter get ready for Prom -- a brand new suit, pick the perfect bouquet, teach him how to tie a tie.
(But they don't live in an ideal world. Tony died before any of that could happen, and Peter, forgotten by everyone, didn't get to have his Prom, either.)
hc that after tony got the arc reactor put in he was very thrown off by how much it impacted his breathing. He couldn’t really do deep breaths anymore, there was a physics barrier stopping him from taking in excess air.
So he started a habit of “deep breathing” by breathing as deep as he could, then holding his breath at the physical limit. He started to like the way he could now measure his breaths. They all compared to one another. The arc reactor gave him a means of measurement.
And when it was removed, he kept up his habit of shallow breaths. He wasn’t used to the freedom that comes with no blockage on his lungs, and taking breaths deeper than he previously could would set off his anxiety horribly.
It became known to the people closest to tony that pressure on his chest would actually calm him down from panic attacks, because it was familiar.
Pepper with a fist pressed into Tony’s sternum, demanding that he breathe. He’s got his eyes closed, he’s got his fists balled, he’s not quite grounded enough to be embarrassed about this yet. He will be soon, though.
i love you kids who made their mentors believe in their potential to be good influences so much they wanted to have biological children

You don't remember exactly what happened. Your mom came home drunk and started yelling. She pulled your hair, and you got dizzy. She kept yelling and breaking things in the house. You just kept looking down at the floor with tear-filled eyes. Later that night, neighbours called the police and the next thing you know, your Aunt Pepper picked you up after questioning.
I love it!! So excited for the next part
"work in progress" is actually so misleading like it assumes that im actually making progress on my work
big fan of the idea that Stark Industries starts selling basic household appliances once the weapons manufacturing gets dropped. SI toaster. SI curling iron.
But with this idea I also need there to be a “stark industries households” youtube channel that is, technically, an official SI channel. But it’s not in the slightest used for marketing or anything of the sort. Tony is the only one with the password and every video uploaded is tony going through how to use that machine.
Someone can’t figure out how to empty their damn fancy vacuum and they look up the model on youtube to figure it out, and are greeted by the CEO of the company doing a WILDLY informal tutorial on how to use it and common issues and such.
The videos are often shot by DUM-E or U. Tony often looks very disheveled, and sometimes there’s unrevealed projects just sitting out in the background. Tony acts like he’s talking to an audience of five people and usually there’s five or six videos uploaded back to back, CLEARLY shot in one sitting.
(Tony likes doing them because it’s a very simple way to ease the “Tony stark dead at ___” headlines without doing a damn press conference. The videos also make people a bit less intimidated by him, and he rarely gets to interact with his creations in an authentic way with an audience.)
Permit me to escalate?
Consider:
The comment section is an absolute war zone… for various reasons
A third of them are normal —
“Thanks Mr. Stark! This helped me fix it!”
A third of them are trolls that make him laugh out loud—
- “Sir this is the most overqualified unboxing I’ve ever seen”
“I just wanted to know how to change the filter”
“Okay but he seems genuinely excited about the lint trap.”
And of course… the rest is Peter. Or Parker Patch Notes as they’ve been calling them.
Because the second the video drops, Peter is there. Not first. He pretends he’s not first. But he is. He’s got notifications on and a dedicated tab open on his computer.
“Mr. Stark you forgot to mention the secondary filter latch at 2:14!!! It’s under the panel on the left!!!”
“Also sir you’re supposed to unplug it first.”
Tony replies from the verified account.
“Peter.”
“We’ve discussed tone.”
The civilians clock it immediately and settle in. They’re not even pretending this is about a kettle anymore, they’re here to watch a billionaire get publicly fact-checked by a teenager with impeccable citation habits.
They start threading replies under Peter like he’s running office hours.
“Peter can you confirm if this voids the warranty.”
“Peter I trust you more than him.”
“Drop the safe version in bullet points.”
And then Tony answers with something dry and unhelpful like:
“He’s exaggerating.”
People start screenshotting the exchanges. Someone timestamps every interaction. There’s a running tally in the replies of how many times Peter says “sir” versus how many times Tony just says “Peter.”
By the third upload, viewers aren’t asking about the product specs, they’re waiting to see how long it takes before Peter gently corrects him and whether Tony pins it again out of spite. It stops feeling like a tutorial and starts feeling like the public has front-row seats to an ongoing, low-stakes domestic debate neither of them realizes they’re broadcasting.
I’m officially voting we retire Twitter fic and usher in the YouTube Tutorial Era of Irondad.
A guide to Tony
After three years… I’m back. Hopefully to stay.
Not sure who’s still around or if anyone remembers me, but I’ve been feeling the pull to write again — and yes, it’s IronDad.
It’s been a while, but the ideas never really left. I’m excited (and a little nervous) to step back into this corner of the fandom.
If you’re still here, say hi. 🖤
What do you think all writers have in common?
an overwhelming and insatiable longing for something more than this

I imagine that Peter Parker is probably pretty similar to the way Tony Stark was at his age, and so like Tony works out some of his habits and stuff pretty early on. And because they spend so much time in the workshop together it’s easy to fall into a rhythm and stuff. Tony learns that Peter knows Spanish and Italian, and so they sometimes wander off into either of those languages so they can keep eachother on their toes. When they’re both Deep in The Zone™ and talking takes up too much brain space that they need to focus on their work, they sort of learn to communicate through knocking against the table a certain amount of times to signal when they need a tool or a helping hand or something. Occasionally one of them just throws out huge strings of numbers or equations and the other replies with an equally mind-boggling formula before they drift off into focused silence again.
Anyway now imagine someone like Steve or Rhodey walking in and like. Trying to understand how the FUCK these two are communicating with eachother. Tony knocked three times and Peter gave him a screwdriver and made them both coffee? They just??? Fucking slip into Colloquial Spanish sometimes without any forewarning? Last night Tony literally just stared at Peter for twenty seconds straight and then Peter said ‘four’ and it was apparently what Tony had been looking for because he gave a thumbs up and then turned back to his project???????
LOOK, it’s cyborg Tony! From like, 2 years ago!
