that's so funny. that means he accepted Vader deflecting a blaster bolt with his hand as just something freaky government cyborgs can do, and stuck by Luke for multiple years as he tried to figure this Force stuff out, and just treated it like your friend getting really really into neopaganism to cope with a loss.

thanks to carbonite han not only misses learning about luke's training montage on dagobah, he's also half-blind during their whole escape on tatooine. luke's out there force-kicking henchmen with his gucci boots and doing flips and shit and han can't see a goddamn thing. now on endor luke's yeeting threepio with the power of his mind and han's just like 'the last time we hung out i had to stuff him in a tauntaun sleeping bag'.

Ah, the eternal Clone Wars struggle. I haven't been super active in the fandom on Tumblr for a few years, and I'm sure that links to my ridiculous flowcharts haven't made the rounds in a while, so maybe they'll be helpful to newer fans.

Bear in mind that they're my best attempt at interpreting massive amounts of often-contradictory information. I also created these in 2020, so there have probably been some changes to canon since then.

Imagine if Palpatine had been eaten by the Zillo beast.

Dooku hears about it and is like "What is my master up to now? Why didn't he fill me in on this plan?". And he's there thinking maybe Palpatine/Sidious was nearly rumbled and he's covering his tracks. That's it. He's going to install some puppet Chancellor now.

So Dooku sends his formal, public condolences to the Republic to keep up appearances and waits for his master to get in contact with him to fill him in on the new plan.

And he waits.

And the Republic start election processes and the likes of Organa, Mothma and Amidala are in the running... And they're quite popular. Even amongst his own senate, who are now getting excited at the potential change in regime happening in the Republic. The likes of Organa are known to be far more open and reasonable. Maybe the fighting will end and diplomacy will resume!

And Dooku waits.

And he waits.

And all his attempts to contact his master fail.

Until eventually someone who most definitely isn't his master's puppet is elected Chancellor of the Republic.

Fuck, did he actually get eaten by the creature he insisted on bringing to Coruscant??

FUN FACT:

So you know how the Wilhelm Scream is in a ton of films as a soundtrack in-joke? It was popularized by Ben Burtt, who was a sound editor on a ton of ton of Lucas films, like all the Star Wars and Indiana Jones films.

Well, he cameos in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. That's him there. His only screen time is getting knocked over a rail, and he does an imitation of the Wilhelm scream as he does it.
