Explanation under the cut—
I’m thinking that Pure Vanilla Cookie saved the High Forkbearer when They were still young (and not yet the High Forkbearer), which was a religious experience for the Cookie and the spark that ignited Their faith for the Godly Creators and the divine.
Later on, after the fall of the Vanilla Kingdom, the High Forkbearer and Healer Cookie crossed paths. Healer Cookie had lost all his memories, of course, but the High Forkbearer recognized him anyway.
After losing their flavor and becoming Doughael, I imagine Doughael fell from the rift in a total state of disarray. Perhaps They sought out Healer Cookie subconsciously, or he just stumbled across Them by pure chance. Either way, he healed Them, cared for Them, and generally fixed Them up.
Doughael then dragged Healer Cookie along with Them into the cult— because of course They did. Healer Cookie wasn’t part of the village yet and was just generally a very foggy amnesiac, so, like, that went nice and well and definitely wasn’t profoundly damaging in any way. Completely typical Doughael behavior.
Healer Cookie left the St. Pastry Order after discovering the truth (that Doughael was feeding believers to the Avatar of Destiny), and Black Raisin Cookie found him soon after that.
I think Healer Cookie leaving caused Doughael to double down on the whole Holy Avatar thing. Perhaps Their general zealotry and possible religious psychosis led Them to see Pure Vanilla Cookie in the Avatar, Their savior and the recipient of Their love… a faith so strong that it would lead Them to crumble at the Avatar’s hands(?).
Yes, I came up with all that after just seeing that one flashback image of those two next to each other 😭

I think pure vanilla and black raisin have one of the most compelling dynamic in all of crk and I'm NOT kidding. Romantic platonic I don't care it fucks every time.

They're both overthinker and workaholics but in very different ways. Raisin is like "if I don't spend every second of my life watching over all my friends they will all die horribly" and PV is like "I need to be the nicest person on the planet otherwise everybody will realise that I suck and abandon me".
And that makes the fact that they are friends with EACH OTHER so special to me. Black raisin's wet cat of a man who spends every moment he doesn't spend worrying himself to death chilling in his garden. Pure vanilla's girlfailure who would literally rather die than lose him or anybody else on the planet at all. They're perfect for each other (and again that can be both romantic or platonic don't put words in my mouth I'm literally aroace)
Do you think PV spend every nights in the week before the council waking her up at 3am like "but what if they are mad at me 😢"? Because I think he did.
I think he and the rest of the raisin villagers stage ambushes in which they bundle black raisin into blankets and then force her to nap.
AND! Black Raisin even gets along great with his friends. She adopted golden cheese in like 3 hours (which is extremely funny to me) this woman sees an ancient ass hero with trauma, ask "is anyone going to befriend that" and then doesn't wait for an answer.
I love her SO MUCH yall. Remember when Healer cookie hit her on the head with his staff? They're besties.
