This Disability Pride Month, I just want to remind all able-bodied people that when you see a product or gadget and your gut reaction to it is that it's "useless" or "clutter" or "only contributing to plastic waste," that product is probably not for you. It was probably designed for/by disabled people, and it's existence has almost definitely helped at least one disabled person live more independently. This includes but is not limited to kitchen gadgets, single-use hygiene items, and individually-packaged foods. It is very noble of you to care about the environment, but that doesn't supersede the needs of disabled people. Thank you goodnight.

thinking about basil makes me insane. what do you mean after all the horrors he has experienced, all the sleepless nights, the nightmares, the pain, the fear. and now he gets to sleep next to the love of his life. he gets to live in a house full of light and life. he gets to water the plants he’s meticulously placed on the window sills in their home. he gets to curl up on the armchair and read his books, and listen to music and wrap himself up in blankets when he’s cold. he gets to move past everything bad that ever happened and focus on getting better. my sweet boy :((( he deserves that so much ❤️‍🩹

Remember how a couple of years ago people online found out about Oral Allergy Syndrome and their minds were blown? They had spent their whole lives thinking that apples were *supposed* to taste spicy, or that *everyone's* mouth felt tingly when they ate a banana, or whatever. Then they learned that it is, in fact, not a universal experience and that they were actually experiencing an adverse reaction to those things?

That's a perfect metaphor for how it felt to realize that I'm asexual in my 30s.
