Welcome! My name is Maya. This is an 18+ Blog. Minors are not allowed.
Annumilia is a world featuring various species of anthropomorphic animals. This is a life long project of mine. With this world, I explore multiple cultures, ideas, and experiences. This blog showcases lore from that world as well as updates on whatever projects I’m currently working on that take place within that world.
I’m also using it to talk about other projects too, namely a Warrior Cats inspired cat story I started in 2024.
Current Projects:
Shadow Seers: A grueling passion project I started in 2018 staring depressed, gay furries arguing about religion and politics within my main country Airlick. [Introduction post]
Current stage: Second draft/refining stage.
Unnamed Cat Colony Story: An adult, Warrior Cats inspired story set in the American Northwest, featuring more political drama and no magic. [Introduction post]
"i know this show was made for children but i enjoy it too." > awesome and cool. watch whatever you want forever.
"i know it LOOKS like it was made for children but its SECRETLY for us. calling it a kids show is an insult cause kids could never understand these THEMES and EMOTIONS. we're the TRUE fans." > i dont think i trust your opinions. you seem lame as fuck.

sometimes u headcanon a character as a sexuality but then also ship things that contradict that. sometimes you ship things you would NEVER EVER want in canon. this is because these things are fun and silly and not legally binding.
(writes something) god this sucks so bad. this is awful. i'm the worst writer ever. this is nothing. (rereads it a while after writing it) oh dude this is fire. i'm the god of writing. (writes something again) god this sucks so bad. th
Me reading another person's writing: Oh they missed a period there, no worries mistakes happen :) Three adjectives in a sentence? Adverbs for days? No worries I love descriptions and this story is fire.
Me seeing the same thing in my work: Wow am I illiterate? Am I actually ok? Who the actual fuck told me I can write so I can go and curse their entire family for the time it took for me to carefully craft this GARBAGE.
There is no drug on earth that can replicate the absolute euphoria of hitting a writing flow state at 2:00 AM. You aren’t even typing anymore. You are a vessel. You are a channel for the gods. The characters are speaking directly into your brain and you’re just the stenographer trying to keep up. You feel like you could fight a bear. You feel like you invented the alphabet
Despite the silly name, the AU is legit. Most of the changes revolve around character design/personalities, biology, and timeline. This is really just an excuse to explore that 10 year gap of time before the player arrives.
My fic, The King and His Fool (and its unnamed prequel) take place within the AU. The link has an excerpt from it, but if you don’t want to click that, it’s under the read more cut.
The King and His Fool takes place six months after Poppy’s defeat. Split into two POVs, it follows The Prototype slowly spiraling as toys try to flee from his reign of terror, and Xavier, a CatNap plushie whose skill in performance give The Prototype a sinister idea to use the boy to spread his propaganda and to spy on the disobedient.
It’s a pretty dark fic featuring Proto horribly manipulating poor Xavier instead of changing his ways to solve his problems. He is the root cause of his issues but he doesn’t see that because of his monstrous ego and delusions lol.
Ask me questions! I can yap about AU all day lol.
The King and His Fool — Chapter Two
Not since the scientists roamed the factory did Xavier feel so hopeless and wretched. Him — hanging in the claws of a monster far worse than any human — filled him with so much dread that Xavier wished The Devil would just kill him.
Deep, deep inside him, buried beneath his fear and self-loathing, was a fiery hatred toward The Prototype. Before The Hour of Joy, he promised them freedom. Granted, for the first few months — when Poppy ruled alongside him — he stayed true to his word. Xavier was scared of him even then, but it was easy to avoid him. But then Poppy rebelled, lost, and disappeared, leaving them alone with an unstable lunatic with an insatiable bloodlust.
Whenever The Prototype was there, Better Place was a minefield. Anything could set him off and, when that happened, someone died. Xavier couldn’t take it anymore. He hated living in fear every day, so of course, when Andrew — a toy he knew before The Hour — came to him with a plan to flee to Safe Haven, Xavier did not ask questions. Andrew was smart and resourceful; Xavier trusted him to gather all of the information and supplies they needed to escape. He did not care how he got his information nor who was helping him. He just wanted to get out.
The Prototype had been gone for three days before they decided to leave. They were making good progress when Andrew found the taser the scientists used on the Bigger Bodies. Andrew was estatic when he discovered it. They had both heard the rumor that The Prototype was weak to them. If set on high, a toy as small as Andrew could knock him down and even kill him if his heart went out. The hope Xavier felt when Andrew found the weapon should have warned him it was a lie. Nothing that good could be true; not in the hellish reality they lived in.
Xavier did not know what they could have done differently. The route Andrew and Giblet mapped out told them to head through the Stitchery’s vents. Giblet warned them it was the most dangerous area so they were cautious and kept their voices low. The Prototype’s hearing wasn’t that good, they assumed. Evidently they were gravely wrong. Andrew saved his life with the taser and Xavier repaid him by throwing him to a wolf to be torn apart.
Xavier stared at the passing floor, swaying limply to the rhythm of The Prototype’s gait. He saved me for no reason.
They had just left Recycling and Reclamation. Giblet was not there. As Xavier figured, he either fled or hid. He expected The Prototype to kill him then and there out of frustration, but to his surprise he picked him up and left without uttering a word. Xavier figured he would check the cameras later, though Giblet would be far gone by the time he did. The fact that Giblet managed to slip away gave Xavier a sliver of rebellious satisfaction. Even with Andrew dead and Poppy defeated, there were still toys out there determined to kill the greatest mistake Playtime Co ever made.
They just have to keep fighting. He can be killed.
“Alright, Xavier.”
The Prototype dropped him. He landed on his stomach with a yelp. Hurting, Xavier got to his feet and looked around. They were at the end of a long hallway full of colorful cells on either side of them. Most of the one-way glass windows were shattered. Dark stains covered the stark white walls and floors in spots. The Prototype, towering over him, typed in an access code that opened a supply closet. He faced Xavier. The flickering, white light lit him from behind, casting an oppressive shadow over the boy. The sliver of rebellious anger Xavier had shriveled into nothing under The Prototype’s glowing yellow-orange glare.
His shifting voices made his skin crawl. “We’ll start here. I thought for sure I destroyed every single one of those accursed sticks, but obviously I missed a few. We will check every closet, every storage room, and every office from top to bottom until I am certain they are all broken. And you are going to keep me company along the way. Understood?”
“Yes, sir.”
“Fantastic. Go.”
Xavier stepped inside. The closet was deep, with shelves full of various gadgets, boxes, and loose documents. From what he could see, most of the boxes were full of papers or office supplies. He did spy a hanging tool rack on the far back wall, but it was empty. On the floor were bits of snapped tasers. Xavier felt The Prototype’s gaze on his back. He scampered over and checked amongst the scraps. Behind him, he heard The Prototype move and investigate the shelves.
Xavier went to a shelf adjacent to the tool rack and jumped onto the first ledge. There was a closed box before him. He tore it open and dumped the contents onto the floor. Papers. He did the same to the next one. Papers and clipboards. He climbed to the next level and cleared that row. Then the next and the next. Nothing.
This is going to take forever.
He reached the top shelf. There was only one box on it. He pushed it off and watched it fall in a crumbled heap below. More papers. Sighing, he climbed down and investigated his mess. Just a bunch of documents, clipboards, and writing utensils. He pushed them into a pile and checked around the shelf itself. Crawling on all fours, he looked underneath it. His glowing white eyes slightly illuminated the small area. He saw something in the far corner.
He dropped flat onto his stomach, army-crawled toward it, grabbed it, and then moved back. Sure enough, it was a taser with the top still on it. Heart pounding, he popped off the top and he flicked the switch. Blue electricity sparked between the prongs as it buzzed to life. On the bottom was a dial for power. He looked over his shoulder. The Prototype had his back to him, busy moving an entire shelf to check behind it.
His screams echoed in Xavier’s head.
I can kill him. Right now.
He examined the taser. On the side was a green battery indicator. It was full. He breathed hard.
I just have to sneak over and poke him with this. When he goes down, I hold it to him until he stops moving. He’s blind on the left side. I can—
“You’re awfully quiet over there, Xavier.”
Xavier whipped around and turned off the taser.
“Did you find something?”
He held the weapon close to his beating heart. The Prototype’s heavy, metallic footsteps sent slight tremors through the floor. Shaking, Xavier whirled around and held up the taser. The Prototype, two feet away from him, flinched.
“G-great,” He collected himself. “Break it.”
Xavier clutched it and stood. I can stab him now. I’m fast. I can do it.
“Break it now, Xavier.”
He felt like his heart was going to burst out of his chest. He pictured himself heroically running up and frying the life out of this murderer. A mighty knight armed with nothing but his sword defeating a terrible dragon. If he could manage it, he would be lauded a hero. All he had to do was move.
“Xavier,” The Prototype’s tone was dangerously low. “I chose to give you the opportunity to become one of the worthy.” He took a step. “But, judging by how you’re standing, you seem to want death. Am I wrong?”
Xavier’s hands shook. Just flip the switch and stab him. Easy! I can do it! Just stab him! Move!
The Prototype closed the gap between them and crouched to his height. Xavier backed to the wall. 1006 locked eyes with him.
“Go on,” he said, “act upon the crazed idea that is brewing in your mind and swiftly join your friend in Hell. That is what you want, isn’t it?” He leaned in, looming over him. “History will not remember your name. I will make sure of that.”
Fighting back sobs, Xavier gripped the taser with both hands, slowly held it out before The Prototype, and, after many grueling seconds of hesitation, brought it down upon his kneecap, snapping it — and his heart — in two.
The Prototype tilted head. “One down, however many more to go.”

The Prototype risked his life to orchestrate a plan to save everyone in Playtime Co and all he asked in return was for them to help him build his utopia. However, Poppy and her allies refused to see the reality of their situation and have chosen to rebel against the one who saved them all… and they all paid heavily for this decision.
This is a multi-POV story that explores the direct aftermath of The Hour of Joy and Poppy’s Rebellion against The Prototype. It is somewhat canon-compliant with some timeline changes.
So I wrote a thing! This is a fic about Poppy’s Rebellion and its eventual failure. It takes place right after The Hour of Joy and explores the fall out of it. I’m really proud of it! Give it a read!
I worked on it everyday for a month straight. My Proto hyperfixation is STRONG!! I love this evil jester so much, it’s unreal.
some people think writers are so eloquent and good with words, but the reality is that we can sit there with our fingers on the keyboard going, “what’s the word for non-sunlight lighting? Like, fake lighting?” and for ten minutes, all our brain will supply is “unofficial”, and we know that’s not the right word, but it’s the only word we can come up with…until finally it’s like our face got smashed into a brick wall and we remember the word we want is “artificial”.
(holding up oc) yyeah this is them. theyre really evil and wretched. love causing pain and lying. master of manipulation and gaslighting and- oh? how do they do all that? wwell you see. with. with their um words. and big smart brain
if you're writing and find yourself thinking 'this is too weird/gross/offputting/esoteric/ambitious/catered to my specific interests + sure to push away a broader audience' that is the devil speaking and it is a lie. you are already firmly on the right path and you need to double down
