i've been thinking about how, during Pomni and Jax's fight in episode 6, when Pomni asks if she did something wrong Jax goes "you sound like Ragatha right now" and to me that interaction doesn't sound like something that would've happened during the timeline of the show. i'm wondering if Ragatha had had a similar conversation with Jax about him ostensibly not caring about her before their relationship soured further

something i've seen (more elsewhere than here) has been people pointing out how fucked-up Jax dropping Ragatha in the deep fryer was and getting mocked by other fans comparing it to cartoon violence in SpongeBob and Looney Tunes and like. the difference is that in the context of TADC they are Human Beings who can feel pain as opposed to characters in a cartoon. Jax is treating those as the same thing and he's not correct he's Coping that's why he says "this is real" during panic attack #3.

one of the key points that's reiterated throughout the entire show is that despite their new forms the Circus members are still People. we're not supposed to agree with the way Jax treats the people around him

everyone talking about how “well she seemed fine after so she didn’t feel pain”. yeah sure the character who covers up their pain to make others happy is totally alright after that actually because she visibly didn’t seem upset by it??? and also why would she put on a bandaid if it didn’t hurt . why would she scream if she wasn’t in pain and was just chilling in there.

also even if it was just “cartoon logic” there was no reason to do that. “it’s funny!” maybe my humour is broken but that was probably the least funny part of the episode.

this was my thought as well. i also didn't find it very funny and to me "she seemed fine after" doesn't negate the fact that in the moment it was likely extremely painful

is the implication in episode 8 that Pomni didn't say anything to anyone about her experience with darkness making Kinger lucid? like not even an off-hand comment like "wow Kinger's way different in the dark" or something? idk personally if I was in her shoes and everyone around me seemed to treat this guy like he wasn't sane i feel like I'd bring that up in some capacity

my opinion on ragatha's centipedes issue

ragatha's torture scene is so wild with the fact that she's so scared of her mother to the point where she finds living under her for over two decades more traumatizing than the circus and then you remember how she said centipedes were 'literally her ONLY fear' and then you scrutinize the torture scene more closely and notice that the curled up lumps of whatever-the-hell served on plates at the dinner table were centipedes and then ragatha's button eye gets targeted for knife throwing twice when the first attempt fails and gets her shaking hand and another lunges to keep her in place on the chair so that she won't move and when she can't even do shit like the rest of the severely knifed mannequins sat in front of her, the camera cuts back to her mom just leering down at her with glee in her eyes. Her background lighting was a harsh red rather than the spotlight white in the rest of casts' torture scenes. What the hell was up with that.
