I won this auction at @221bcon! This is a collection of Sherlock Holmes stories by Arthur Conan Doyle’s son Adrian and John Dickson Carr (who I suspect did most of the heavy lifting). It was originally published in 1952; this is the 1970s paperback reissue. It’s okay. The MAIN reason I wanted it is to share with you….

…the very last page. Apparently ACD’s own son hated the idea of Holmes and Watson being separated in retirement so much that he published his own fix-it fic!

‘Mantón de Manila’

Things aren’t great… well, anywhere.

So I dug out some markers and colour pens and tried to do something experimental and bold, but indulgent nonetheless: Holmes wearing a silk shawl based on a Chinese piece currently in The MET museum.

I’ll resume posting and working on the Kiss Art February challenge at some point, but for now I needed to do something purely for myself.

I know I’m posting way too much Russian Holmes content but I’m truly in shock and disbelief at this series. I’m gonna lose it. Look at him!! Nothing makes Watson happier than praise from Sherlock. These are the interactions I am constantly dying to see in any media and this series delivers, baby.
