everyone should watch this video. just learned something new. the usa is still genociding indigenous people and they won't stop.
*gasp* the boat video
You know, I usually try to give the live action remakes of my favourite shows and movies a chance. I try to defend them if I think they're decent in what they try to do. But the live action "Lilo and stitch" movie? I haven't hated something like this in my entire life.
The original Lilo and stitch was absolutely perfect. It's a movie about family, belonging, and acceptance. It's fun, loud, beautiful, and absolutely hilarious. Every character had depth and personality and edge. Every plotline was executed perfectly. And I love every single character in that movie.
But this? This isn't Lilo and stitch. This doesn't even deserve the title of Remake. This is the original story twisted and lobatmized and had its frontal lobe smashed into the pavement.
The entire "ohana is family" quote that we all remember and love and brings us to tears? Gone. Just nonexistent. They didn't include even the heart of the movie. And what was left instead didn't even make any sense because why do you wanna go to California to study marine biology WHEN YOU LIVE IN HAWAII??? PEOPLE GO THERE TO SPECFICLY STUDY THAT! WHO WROTE THIS?!?
And the fact that Lilo was GIVEN away to the state at the end of the movie? I walked out. I should have walked out the minute they got rid of Ohana is family but I didn't. I prevailed. And I hated it. This is the first time I see both sides hating a movie this much. And now I need to watch the original until I forget.
1/10. Only because Lilo's actor was the only tolerable thing. I don't recommend. Watch the original if you want the actual movie.
Vampires is different, maybe the worst kind. But they live on, even if the one that made them is killed. They gotta be killed, one by one.
SINNERS (2025) dir. Ryan Coogler
Been rewatching Arcane S1 recently and I have to say the MelJayce sex scene jumping back and forth with the scene with Viktor fucking dying is the reason why AI will never replace humanity
So I watched Sinners and I have to say that it's possible one of the most amazing movies that I have ever seen in my entire life.
I don't even exaggerate when I say that the "I lied to you" song sequence is probably one of the most incredible shots in movie and film Making history in the Last 10 maybe 20 years.
The symbolism, the artistry, the music, the writting, the way every shot and interaction is filmed. And you know Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan is a killer combination. I haven't seen a movie with those 2 that wasn't amazing.
But on top of all that we get to see one of the most interesting interpretations of vampires that I have seen in a while. The fact that they need premission to step in almost felt forgotten in recent media but right here it's executed so well. And when remmick started quoting the Bible? Man that was actually scary. Because you know if anything else fails just try to pull a conjuring and hope it works.
If I had one nitpick it would be that I would have liked to see more of the vampire hunter tribe we saw at the beginning. They seemed really cool and it was really funny that they dipped for the rest of the movie. I imagine they were like:
"we're not helping them?"
"is the sun up?"
"no?"
"then no. The answer is no. Who the fuck hunts vampires at night?"
So yeah great movie 10/10 would recommend.
