why me?

i know that there's no answer for this and it's even fucking selfish to ask but why me?

i took all the pills and the programs i followed what everybody said i was an A+ student on depression and still, shit got worse

i did all the homework and attended all the classes i did what i was suppossed to do - what i was taught to do since i was little

but life follows no curricular plans and no matter how much i tried, shit got worse

so why me?

was it a grudge from a past life, some past i am repressing, or just - dumb bad luck? why me?

eu sei que não tem resposta pra isso e é egocêntrico de perguntar mas por que eu?

eu tomei as pílulas e segui os programas ouvi o que as autoridades diziam eu era uma aluna nota 10 em depressão e mesmo assim, a merda ficou pior

eu fiz todo dever de casa assisti todas as aulas eu fiz o que eu deveria fazer - o que eu fui ensinada a fazer desde pequena

mas a vida não segue planos curriculares, e não importa o quanto eu tentei, a merda ficou pior

então por que eu?

foi um encosto de vida passada, alguma memória que estou reprimindo, ou só - um puta azar? por que eu?

the rape trauma is the least of my traumas

i have so many traumas some of them go by unannounced i try to find time to deconstruct them but i get lost with the more urgent ones

so the rape seems like an afterthought a note on a mind well battered from war

it doesn't minimize its horrors but it feels so small so insignificant

compared to all the other gaps the other violence

that sometimes it falls through the cracks

forgotten, unattended

until i wake up thinking about it trying to find space in my agenda to take care of him

he's a little boy covered in knives but what's a little boy compared to the soldiers who came around with grenades

so he sits there waiting listening poking me

waiting for his turn
