Someone has probably already asked you this but do you have any tips on studying/understanding perspective? I keep trying to find resources to learn but none of them really stick or are actually useful
so I'm hoping that your issue isn't just figuring out the difference between 1-point, 2-point, and 3-point perspective and how it works, because there are tons and tons of resources available for that, and I'm guessing what people tend to get tripped up on is what you're supposed to be doing with your grid.
I'm definitely far from being an expert on understanding perspective, but I'll share some of the things that helped ME finally Get It.
Things like eye level and different camera angles can be a GREAT tool to use when doing a comic or storyboard between multiple characters of different heights!! I actually drew an example of this exact thing for a friend about a month ago (I used adventure time characters bc they're easy to draw and have a good height variety):
You can use camera angles like this to add variety to your shots, and even use it to help convey something emotional (using a down-shot on a character to show that they FEEL small, use an up-shot on a character to make them look more intimidating, etc etc)
hope this helps!

hey what was all that anyways?
the biggest art tip i have to bestow upon you is to never leave color correcting or filters as the last step of your piece. tweak the colors/saturation/values and then build on that as if you’d done it manually. go a step further after you’ve applied filters. it’ll elevate your art
hope its ok 4 me to reblog but completely agreed + i would say if you’re unsure about picking colours, starting with like 3 or 4 colours and then changing colour balance + applying the layer early works really really well for finding a more unique selection
i was actually thinking about this on my drive home + wanted to add some pics to show how useful it is on getting colours. so i had this painting, this is how early stage it is. like it’s a shape. this is basically 30 seconds in. i didnt think about the colours at ALL. it’s just black red brown and white on top of green. that is all it is
i want the final thing to have a vignette so i sprayed literally just straight black on the edges. no filters or special layers it’s just black
then went to colour balance and changed it to warmer tones
and yeah:) now it has colours that i can go ahead with that fit the vibe im going for and work well together and i didn’t even need to put any thought into it! and then i can paint further and build onto those colours:)
