theres a youtuber ive watched before he ever hit 1k. hell, before he hit 800. he had subtitles on his first video. manual ones, not auto-generated ones. IF HE CAN DO THAT THEN SO CAN SOME FUCKASS WITH THOUSANDS OR MILLIONS OF SUBSCRIBERS. OR AT LEAST FUCKING PAY SOMEONE TO DO THE SUBTITLES

and i hate the autogenerated subtitles so much. if the person swears or says a slur and it isnt censored, DONT CENSOR IT IN THE SUBTITLES. if its censored in speech, then censor it in subtitles. but if someone says a slur outright, no censoring? put it in the damn subtitles, i dont care, subtitles are for telling you what someone says

if your guy says "motherfucking bitch" then the subtitles should not say "motherf*cking b*tch", "mother******* b*****" or void forbid "[_] [_]" like youtube's autogenerated subtitles do. your subtitles should be saying "motherfucking bitch", UNLESS the guy's speech was censored like motherf[dolphin noise] b[dolphin noise], then you subtitles say "motherf[dolphin noise] b[dolphin noise]"

that being said, we actually do have to take a critical look at the amount of water used in agriculture too. we grow a lot of corn in north america that isn't even for human consumption—either for ethanol or for livestock. that seems stupid, doesn't it? we grow large amounts of specific water intensive crops in traditionally parched areas. that also seems stupid. maybe we don't need to eat as many almonds and avocados as we do and getting used to having access to an abundance of certain foods all year round has damaging downstream effects to the environment and overall life on this planet.

a society that is disconnected from its food sources is a society that has no idea the damage its causing to itself and will just drunkenly stumble itself into collapse. of course, this is reflected in nearly all consumption—especially fossil fuels.

all in all, capitalism is stupid. and it breeds stupid choices. its like organizing a society without any brains. its a chicken with its head cut off. most of the structural and logistical organizing is around how much profit can be extracted, how much capital can be created, how many “jobs” can be created, and purely metaphysical emotional bullshit like whether stock market chuds are calm and happy, and not around whether anything we're doing is economically or environmentally sustainable or even like, actually feeds people.

it's a dumb system created by dumb idiots perpetuating dumb results that eventually leads to collapse.

the economy wasn't handed to us by nature through evolution. it was made up human beings and perpetuated by human decision-making. it can be changed.

feeling not only physically but also emotionally like fucking garbage is unfortunately an extremely effective way to force your body to prioritize fighting infection & keeping you alive. i don’t have to like it, but knowing why i get weepy & pathetic when sick does help at least a little
