Stop Line 3
If you haven't already heard about Line 3, please read. It's an environmental emergency that has countless consequences.
Line 3 is an oil pipeline that stretches across northern Minnesota and continues on into Canada. It is an upgrade to a pre-existing pipeline which has already wreaked havoc.
Here are the highlights for what you need to know about Line 3:
Line 3 crosses 200+ bodies of water, crossing the Mississippi TWICE
It runs across treaty land owned by Native Americans in northern Minnesota
It has twice as much capacity as its predecessor
It will more than double Minnesota's greenhouse gas emissions output
Generations of Native American water protectors have raised awareness and put themselves in harm's way to end this climate catastrophe and we all should be too. The operation of pipeline 3 is detrimental to our environment, the Anishinaabe people, and countless ecosystems that rely on the fresh water that line 3 will inevitably pollute.
