DS9 Textposts pt 9-???

so, i've been watching star trek for the first time ever, starting from TOS and i thought i'd watch the new trek too. but watching discovery proved to be sooo difficult that i decided to not watch new trek at all... i am at season 3 and it is NOT getting better...i'm sorry but that's a whole another show at this point. it is a beautiful show, with cool CGI and all, but it doesn't feel like trek and it's not really enjoyable for me. on the contrary, i feel kinda stressed from so much lore developing every episode (and it's just never-ending. no silly episodes really). the whole series feels like those videos people make where they put subway surfaces JUST to keep viewer's attention.

i decided to stop watching discovery, it's really getting absurd personally for me. i shall go on my second rewatch of the whole star trek YAY!!

...that means i have to watch The Man Trap episode at midnight...

watching star trek has surely proved to be good for my mental health. i turn on an episode, i see what horrors and traumas ash tyler goes through and think to myself "well at least i wasn't put through that much suffering🙏"

i finished all the "basic" star trek shows (TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT) (but didn't watch almost any movie inbetween by my own mistake) and now i started discovery. why do i feel like i am watching a completely different universe and completely different franchise?...

and i dont know if i'm alone but it's honestly so confusing...like i Loove the CGI and gays and all that but. the whole 1 season so far has felt like it's a never ending movie. it's a completely different style with all episodes being connected and every episode it's like they are dropping lore but the lore is so insane and it goes on and on and it's just so overwhelming because every episode is like a fucking insane drop of insane lore???

i haven't seen other people commentinf on DISCO so far and i would like to hear some opinions. really miss my holy five series and I will be rewatching everything from the start but this time with the movies too. really miss my tng and silly pencil drawn effects and that dog with lion mask presented as an alien. bring it back
