I was going back and reading some of my old writing today. I unfortunately have been forced to reconcile the fact all the fan fiction I read has in fact impacted my writing and potential not for the best. I used to be so much more descriptivist of the environment but now I narrow in on the characters and the exact emotions I want the reader to feel. Chat am I cooked?

The thought of situation ship!Jack Abbot who just wants someone to be around and dote on but can’t let himself commit to a full relationship. It stars after he meets you at a bar one night, the soft fabric of a summer dress not at all fit for such a place draped over your figure.

He quietly watches you throughout the night, the way you keep trying to grab your dates attention but he keeps brushing you off while talking with some of his friends. Eventually he notices you walk off, lip pressed into a pout and approach the bar for a drink. He watches as you spend the next while sipping on a margarita, your date never once coming over. When he notices you getting close to the bottom he waves over the bartender and asks him to make another for you.

You tilt your head in confusion when the bar tender sets the glass down in front of you but he just smiles and nods his head Jacks way. Your eyes meet and he tips his head as if tipping the brim of a hat. You smile softly and mirror his movement, throwing in a wink to finish it out. He has to force himself to look away before he starts blushing.

Jacks been through a lot. He’s been through combat, marriage and made a widower, years in the ER, and more recently volunteering for SWAT for fun. He knew he was messed up and in all honesty, he had very little desire to change it. He was content. All he was missing was some friendly company, you know, when the house got too quiet and he runs out of things to distract himself with.

Over a couple weeks he would see you come in from time to time and he’d always order a margarita for you. In return you’d usually come over and sit with him, maroon painted lips pulled into a soft smile.

Your conversations varied based on how your days had gone. If he was ever there it was on his day off, nights when there was nothing left to distract himself. He never said much but he told you enough, the rest you gathered from context clues.

He worked in the ER as an attending and the residents would drive him nuts on occasion but he loved them like they were his kids. Honestly the place was like a second family to him with how much he would talk about people there.

He was a vet, honorably discharged after losing his leg.

The night you finally noticed the ring on his left hand you immediately asked. “There isn’t a Mrs Abbot I should let know about how you spend your check here, should I?” You asked, concern lacing your tone. He told you he was widowed but he kept his ring on because he still felt he could never let her go.

Something changed between the two of you that night. He was a little more open after that and you started noticing how even though he clearly was interested in you, he never pushed to take things outside the bar.

One night, when you two leave particularly late and it’s raining quite hard he finally makes a move and offers to drive you home. “You really don’t have to.” You try to say, “Im just a couple blocks from here. I don’t mind the rain.”

“Nonsense. Let you walk home in this, with that lovely dress? What sort of man would I be if I did that?” He says. You two are laughing the whole way as you run across the street to his truck. He’s holding his jacket up to cover the both of you as well as he can but the height difference means he’s still getting soaked.

He throws open the door for you so you can get inside then heads around to get in himself. You two talk about everything and nothing as you direct him back to your apartment, the pattering rain and occasional thunder outside providing a comforting atmosphere.

“This is it here.” You say pointing to your building up ahead. He pulls over and parks out front. There’s a quiet moment between you two, eyes on one another, waiting. “I’ll see you around.” He says quietly, the smell of whiskey still on his breath even though he’d stopped drinking hours ago. His eyes trace your face, the streetlights casting your features in a beautiful amber glow.

“I’ll see you.” You respond, everything left unsaid clawing at your throat for an escape. His eyes drop to your lips for just a moment but that’s all it takes. You lean in slowly, as if he were a deer that may bolt at any moment. He pressed his forehead to yours, leaning in a way that kept his lips just far enough from you that you could not reach but his nose brushed yours ever so gently.

Your name slipped past his lips, the word so quiet it seemed he feared it would break slipping past his teeth. “I can’t give you what you want.” He raised his hand to hold the back of your neck. “Im no good for you.”

“Who said you had to be?” You replied. You smelled like morning dew and citrus, it was intoxicating. He wanted you more than anything but he also knew he’d never be able to give you the life you deserved. You would always be the other woman if you were with him. It was a fate he would wish upon anyone, especially not you.

Loving you meant Jack Abbot would have to stop running and that was something he only did once, and he lost everything because of it.

“I’ll never be able to give you more than this.” He said, finger tips tracing over the shape of your jaw.

“Im an independent woman Dr. Abbot. If I needed more I wouldn’t be looking for it in a man I figured out a long time ago.” You grin, your eyes locking with his. “A friend and good sex. If you can give me that then you have nothing to worry about.”

His grin widened and apprehension melted away. “Well in that case, I can give you the world sweetheart.” He tipped your head up and his lips slotted with yours as though they were made to go together. He tasted of alcohol and mint.

I was gonna make this bet after the first episodes of X-Men ‘97 game out but after ep4 Im dropping it because I’m sure it’s gonna happen.

With all the timeline stuff that’s happening this session and how massive of a threat as Apocalypse is Im calling it now that the session is going to end in some way that plays right into Doomsday. Like think about it. Ep 4 gave so much more evidence. Kang made an appearance, the Celestial told Nuor that Apocalypse is the end and the beginning of all things, that he will bring about a new age. The X-Men literally were destined to bring Nuor to the ship and he become Apocalypse.

My money is on them failing to stop Apocalypse and they are forced to somehow change their timeline so that he never comes to be. I don’t know. Point is whatever they do it causes such a large ripple in the timeline that is leads to an incursion and collapse of their timeline. We’re not seeing the Fox X-Men in the Doomsday trailers but the ‘97 X-Men, or at least versions of them.

Just had a dream I was at a charity event and the headliners for it were David Corenswet and Markaplier. I went to try and take a picture of them together but I think it was a no photos event and legit Marks YouTuber instincts kicked in and he made direct eye contact with me and stared me down till I put my phone away lol. Then he did that little move with his hand thats like “Im watching you.” 💀 Low key feels like he’s watching me right now.

a series of heartfelt videos from grace to stratt, in which he says hello and goodbye and i hate you and thank you and i miss you, are found in the database and reposted online. there's suddenly a massive outcry of support for her, which results in her release from prison. some youtuber makes a gritty but surprisingly touching short film about her story

people coming together to make earth better. trying to repair the damages from the sun's dimming, trying to repair the environment, trying to repair global relations. they want to be an earth worth saving, an earth that grace would be proud of

space travel becomes a huge global priority, the nations of the world pool resources and there are huge advances in technology (especially with scientists studying xenonite!)

the project hail mary launch date becomes a huge global holiday. there's a parade in almost every city all over the world in honor of the hail mary. people lay candles and flowers at memorials for yao, ilyukhina, annie, and dubois. murals of grace and rocky cover building sides. people gather in the streets and remember those who saved them, and banners that read "grace rocky save stars" flutter in the wind above the crowds.

coca cola airs a VERY insensitive commercial with some low quality eridian puppets. the commercial is slammed online and company stocks plummet

people continue to live their lives as normal. because of grace and rocky, because of the beetles, the sun is saved. earth keeps spinning.

Some Magneto thoughts because they say if there isn’t any content for it make it yourself.

X-Men ‘97 focused but tbh could apply to any variant.

He doesn’t like having pets. The life he lives just doesn’t allow for them and he doesn’t really like the idea of keeping an animal that is entirely reliant on him. If something’s ever happened to said pet he would absolutely hate himself for it.

That being said he loves animals and especially cats. One time while he was at the mansion visiting Charles during one of their “on good terms” periods he ends up sat in the living room with Jubilees cat in his lap. He refused to move till the cat decides to get up on its own (which wasn’t for two hours and only after Jubilee walked in looking for Mr. Whiskers.

Magneto was fully prepared to stay there the rest of the night. He also may or may not have fallen asleep in those two hours and Hank has the most black mail worthy photo of him, head tipped back, fully snoring, and the cat curled up in his lap.

That photo makes it into a collection of photos at his funeral a year later. (Hes not actually dead, it’s just the per decade “Magneto had a change of heart and sacrificed his life to save the world and we all assumed he died” funeral. His actually in the back of the crowd and Charles clocks him half way through.)

On the note of funerals Charles always makes sure that they are done according to Jewish tradition. Even if Magneto may not actually be dead he knows one day he won’t come back and he wants to make certain that his beliefs are respected when that day comes. Ericks always appreciative of this.

After Erick takes over the X-Men he’s taken by surprise the day he walks into the kitchen and notices the entire separate rack of pots, pans, and cooking utensils labeled “kosher”.

“None of its ever been used for pork or anything like that.” Jubilee explains when he asked about it. “Someone asked about the cook wear once and Charles realized with how chaotic the kitchen gets it would probably be best to have a separate set to prevent cross contamination.” She shrugs, unbothered. Erick cooks for the first time in years without the worry of going against Jewish dietary rules.

He gets roped into movie night with Roberto, Jubilee, Morph, and Logan one night. He’s not really one for movies but by the end of the night he’s discovered a new love for Forest Gump and Dead Poets Society.

Morph gets him to watch a few other Robbin Williams movies. The day he busts out a Mrs Doubtfire impression with Morph he loses his mind. It’s eerily good and Morph can’t help but call out to Scott who was a little ahead of them. All Magneto does is shake his head and quietly say “They’ll never believe you when you tell them.”

They don’t and Morph sometimes says it’s because only a true villain would pull a move like that.

Erick draws. He hasn’t done it consistently since way back when he and Charles first met but on occasion, when his mind wanders and there’s pen and paper near a portrait usually manifests before long. He’s surprisingly good. Charles keeps one of Magnus’s drawings framed on his desk, a quick sketch of the two of them at the bar the night they first met.

He still goes to synagogue for major holidays. Mostly Yom Kippur and Hanukkah. There’s not particularly synagogue he goes to, usually just whatever one is closest to him where in the world he is at the time.

Conceptually I like the idea of Magneto trying to be less black and white in his view of humanity, of trying to achieve coexistence like Charles has been.

I think however it’s a very narrow line to walk between him acting this way because of Charles and for mutants vs outright changing his ideals to see humans as capable of truly accepting mutants and him losing his hatred towards them.

Like he can change to become tolerant of humans and lose that “genocidal” ideal he had of if humans can’t accept mutants then all humans must go.

However you have to be careful not to lose the reason why he believed this in the first place (being a victim of the holocaust) and that he keeps that response/instinct of always being on the offensive around humans. Taking those away just makes him Charles. Where Charles always assumes the best in people Eric, as his mirror, will always assume the worst. He can change to begin to trust humans but he will always be weary of them.

Im interested to see how the writers took his ark for this new season and desperately hope they kept these details in mind when plotting it out.

So far it seems to be going ok. He’s trying to change Apocalypse to create a future safe for mutants. His worry isn’t humans, it’s coexistence for mutants with them.

I hate mushrooms. The texture of uncooked mushrooms makes me sick and when I look at the underside I genuinely feel queasy. I was complaining to my mom about this while cooking with mushrooms one. I told her any man I ever date will have to be able to cut mushrooms for me, no questions asked. Like not even helping cook or they are doing something entirely different but if I asks them to come over and cut mushrooms for me they will once they finish what they’re doing.

Im starting a thread of me posting as I watch Who Killed Markaplier? Because it’s the first time I’ve ever watched any of his other story videos. I’ve been seeing content for months and finally caved because I want to figure out what the deal is with Darkaplier and Warfstache. (Genuinely think Wilford is gonna be my fav) I keep seeing people talk about how crazy the lore is so I’m committing.

Anyway: Episode 1

The Mayor just found out Mark is dead and left to go talk to the Colonel.

I know Darkaplier has his original in this series or at least to my understanding he does. When The Mayor is leaving the group you can see his color fade for a sec. That’s not just lightning.

I know this is supper late and I’m sure everyone has already dissected every frame of this but whatever. I wanna do it too.
