The softwood cladding has two sides, one for the garden and one for the pavement. By using this type of system there is no need to see joins or posts as you would traditionally. You can even cut small sections out to house plants or lights. It's all backed up structurally by large vertical posts and 2x4 stud work.
Here you can see the retaining wall we built to keep the soil and pavement from encroaching the garden. The cladding replaced an old wall and fence and gives much better flow to the area, as well as a great backdrop for climbing plants. The ''Festoon'' lights you can see are a great option, especially in an overlooked garden such as this as they create a lovely warm atmosphere below.
This garden in South East London lacked light and space even though it had a large footprint. We sadly had to remove a large tree as it took all the essentials from the area, but this did allow us to dig back the beds and create this wonderful timber clad and decked space complete with integrated seating and planters. Lots of planting will be added in the next stage.
The path at Holland Park School nearly finished now - a new brick edge and chippings to define a lovely 100 year-old pleached lime arbour.
We've got a last minute Christmas sale on this lovely beauty of a table - now only £1,000. Hand-built in our workshop, the table is made from reclaim timber salvaged from a demolished pub on the Isle of Dogs. All of the table's frame is mortice and tenon and its surface is finished with a waxed top. L: 2.4m, W: 1.05m, H: 0.75m Can be delivered and installed before Christmas - just in time for getting the whole family together around the table. A nice brief this one. Build a bespoke farmhouse-style table for an office kitchen in Marylebone so that the team can sit down and have lunch together. Reclaimed timber and whitewashed legs. At 3.7m, there's plenty of room for everyone.

A circular bench that we're working on in Herne Hill as part of a wider landscaping project designed by Propagating Dan - a great use of whitewashed reclaimed railway sleepers as uprights, finished with spiralling granite setts.
We popped back for an aftercare visit to check in on this Western Red Cedar bespoke bench with integrated planting that we built this Summer in Essex. A very nice little solution for a small patio space and we're happy to hear that it's well used by the family!
An updated picture from Peckham Rye. The garden is more settled and the soft landscaping is coming into its own. We revisited as part of our after care package that comes included with all our projects.
The main carcass of this Oak cart lodge in Essex is finished, sitting on a brickwork plinth to keep the moisture away it looks pretty grand. The next stage is to put the waterproof membrane on ready for the weatherboarding on the walls and natural slate on the roof.
This is a lovely little Landscaping job in Peckham Rye, London. An impressive amount was done with the space. The outhouse works well as an office and to get there it's a joy over the patio and up the Sandstone steps. The Oak sleepers are built low to the ground to add to the Japanese feel. Hats off to 'Propagating Dan' for the planting.
This table is made from reclaimed timber. The top is comprised of floor joists from a demolished pub on the Isle of Dogs in East London called ''The Anchor & Hope'', the base is old and sturdy Douglas Fir painted ''Blanc Ivoire''. I picked up all this joy from a yard just North of the Blackwall Tunnel and machined it in my workshop in Essex, I then drove it to the South of France where it now lives. This one seats at least 12! Bespoke sizes and timber stories available.
The mighty Gherkin in shot! This deck is on the sixth floor by the river , I screwed the boards through the face for extra strength against the weather. Some would use secret fixings to save the face of the boards but I just don't trust them in these situations.
This is a project in Wapping, East London, a quiet central area on the Thames. This deck is a Hardwood calles Yellow Balau. It's laid in the interwoven Herringbone style. With a minimal amount of space it's good to do as much as possible with it, the 'arrow' draws the eye out over the view. Subtle lighting complements the area well.
Ah, modern lighting - not for everybody - myself included but the client wanted a modern feel and they live there so that's it! The Grasses you can see leading up to the view are Carex (Red Rooster), initially we talked about Lavender in this spot, then Buxus but when I saw these the decision was made. Cotswold chippings turned up at the 11th hour and were the final piece in the jigsaw, the last day is always a late one!
A wider view of the Ealing project, you can see a glimpse of the Indian Sandstone patio with brick edge to match the existing house. It will be nice to come back in time when the flowers have won back some space and are more established, the Japanese Maple at the rear left of the picture has instant effect in this respect, the rest just need time.
