HAPPY LIMINAL SPACEMAS, COUCHES
I dreamt that there was a new meme that went, âIf I dids it, I dids it. If I didsnât, I didsnât.â There was a third line, but I forgot what it was.

itâs so bizarre when animated American films are set in a certain location and then only certain characters have the accents of that place. It makes no damn sense!! like
WHY IS SHE MORE FRENCH THAN THE REST OF THEM???
WHY ARE THESE GUYS MORE SCOTTISH THAN THE KIDS??
(also, arenât they Vikings or something?)
To be fair, almost everyone in Ratatouille does have a French accent. The real question is why Linguini and also all the rats sound intensely American
If it was just the rats Iâd say itâs because the movie can be interpreted to mean that the rats understand but donât necessarily speak human languages so the rat dialog isnât literally taking place the way we see it but that doesnât explain why Linguini has a rat accent
LINGUINI HAS A RAT ACCENTÂ
Do we ever hear like
For sure that Linguini grew up in France tho?
It could be possible heâs just an American immigrant
I mean his name is Alfredo Linguini so I always assumed he was Italian
Iâm sorry his first name is Alfredo?
ALFREDO???
heâs American you guys his mother was American it was mentioned in the beginning
Iâm sorry, Iâve moved on to the fact his mother was going through her cupboard for baby names
Alfredo was a name before it was a sauce letâs go over the movie from the top again
This is Alfredo di Lelio (right) the inventor of fettuccine Alfredo, heâd come out to the table and make it in front of you by hand
The chap on the left is an airport
I think you might have your left and right mixed up, my friend
Great post everyone. Hit the showers.
actually the rats name was Alfredo, the chefs name was Digornio!

absolutely fascinated by this raw pixels on an emulator vs how the game was actually supposed to look on old tvs twitter
People say that old games dont look as good as they remember
Its because they legitimately dont.
The âfuzzâ from CRT monitors was something that was definitely accounted for and taken advantage of back in the day when it came to video games! While this effect is noticeable in 3D games, itâs MUCH more visible when it comes to 2D sprites:
Just look how much more depth these simple sprites of Princess Peach and Bowser from Super Mario RPG seem to have when seen through the âdotsâ of a CRT TV screen!
I somehow did not know this!?!?!?
One of the clearest examples of this is using the effect for transparent waterfalls in the MegaDrive Sonic games
My absolutely favourite example of this is with Dracula's eyes in Castlevania

Hearts of Absent Women
Like many Korean families, artist Ema Shinâs relatives maintain a genealogy book called a jokbo, which illustrates their family tree. Shinâs ancestral record spans 32 generations, yet only male members of the family are represented. Born and raised in Japan, and currently based in Melbourne, Australia, the artist describes in a recent statement that âin the society that I was born and raised in, there was a prejudice between men and women, and their roles were predetermined. I always felt uncomfortable with this inequality.â In her series Hearts of Absent Women, she celebrates and recognizes women whose achievements remain obscured by history.
Heart-shaped forms made from fabric are elaborately embellished with colorful threads and beads in an homage to the organâs connection with emotion and vitality. They are nearly life-size, and the range of woven and stitched textures are captivatingly tactile. Both anatomical and fanciful, the arteries, veins, and ventricles become distinctive expressions in needlework that reflect strength, resilience, and individuality. Since becoming a mother herself, Shin has been particularly interested in honoring womenâs lives and bodies, recognizing the anonymous contributions of those in her family and around the world and acknowledging their stories for the future.
