Adam: Your older brother. Abel. He's dead.
Adams third child, Seth: What is that?
Adam: I don't know. This is new for me too.
Eve: I think "dead" is what happens to dinnerbeasts.
Seth:
Eve: We might have to dinner him.

shit man this got me emotional
left: the Nebra sky disc, circa 1600 BCE, showing the Moon, Sun, and stars in gold on copper - the oldest depiction of the cosmos in the world
right: the Webb Space Telescope, July 2022, revealing thousands of baby galaxies forming in the early days of the universe - humankind’s deepest look into the sky
Here’s some extra photos of the disc from when it was exhibited just in case
I got to see this in person!!
It was on display in a museum I visited with @zehecatl

i know a lot of you are hardcore "obesity is going to kill you" truthers, and im not gonna convince u otherwise, but i hope u know that medical neglect bc doctors refuse to consider anything other than our weight is a real contributor to our poor outcomes
On top of this it’s common for doctors to not offer or provide treatments to fat people because they see them as less deserving or not worth the effort. Even if a doctor knows about a treatment that could improve a fat persons life often they won’t offer it if the treatment may promote weight gain. This includes psychiatric and diabetes medications.
Surgeons are not taught how to operate on fat bodies. Despite there being no limit for anesthesia based on body size and no real evidence of increased risk (beyond the risk of being treated by a surgeon who isn’t familiar with fat bodies) fat people are often denied surgeries that would improve quality of life. Of course no matter how risky a basic routine surgery is arbitrarily deemed to be they will always push gastric bypass surgery on fat people.
The medical industry refuses to meaningfully invest in developing imaging technology that can accommodate a diverse array of bodies. So we are denied CT scans and MRIs based on body size. And when we are able to get imaging done if the technology is not good enough to get a clear image our bodies are blamed instead.
It’s not uncommon for diseases like cancer and autoimmune disorders to go undiagnosed until they significantly degrade quality of life or kill us. Because anything that causes weight loss is seen as a good thing and certainly not cause for concern or investigation.
Trans folks are routinely denied surgeries, hormones and other gender affirming care based on body size. Despite the fact that it is well known that the best way to prevent death by suicide in trans patients is lowering and eliminating gender dysphoria.
Doctors who don’t like fat people, practice medicine from a place of anti-fat bias, and think that they just need to lose weight to qualify for treatment don’t care about any of this. This is medical neglect at best. Abuse and murder at its worst. And it is unacceptable. The medical system must change. Doctors must be educated on how their bias against fat people lowers our quality of life and ultimately kills us. Every interaction at a routine medical appointment shouldn’t feel like a fight for survival. We deserve better.

anatomy of a humiliation
if you told vin diesel fast and the furious you were gay he'd be like "Some people like driving stick…some people like driving automatic…what matters is you cross the finish line.." and then he'd rev up a dodge challenger and drive through a building and kill 16 people
he literally did in the fourth one when he's asked if he likes cars more than women
If you asked if he was cool with trans people, he'd probably say "sometimes, aftermarket parts are the only way to get the vehicle you really want. Everyone should have the right to hot rod."
The cards see all.
