they don't even know that in 2025 just one thai company will release tv shows on youtube for free where a depressed grocery store owner woman falls in love with her bubbly customer, where 6 women will be in a toxic love hexagon with each other, two gay vampires shows, a show where a cancelled male broadcast host gets back together with his journalist ex, where two men are investigating murders together while fighting sexual tension, where a bunch of high school boys are falling in love at first sight and nothing hurts, an enemies to lovers gay story about fashion majors, a dark horny love triangle between male coworkers, a messy show about a group of men sleeping with each other on a theatre play set, a convicted young man falling love with an amnesiac prince whom he found on a beach, a romantic comedy series about two brothers scamming two rich men into shotgun marrying them to get divorce benefits, horror gay romance where a young man loses memories of his suspicious criminologist ex, a story about two boyfriends who work as primary school teachers, an ensemble show that includes: a group of trans friends looking for love, high school enemies to lovers destined to be together and gang rivals falling for each other. then also cat cafe show where a man who can talk to cats has hots for the new cafe owner, a doctor and a man who can see the future having their love bloom while they are in hiding together, crack story about a guyfailure having a gig of searching for evidence that a flight attendant's captain boyfriend is cheating on him, show where a dramatic mafia heir raised on soap operas falls for the guy who gives him an earful about consent and manners, a magical fortune teller offering a failed athlete to be his assistant, a noble man romancing a translator commoner in 1920s Thailand, and a show where a pastor's young protege fights his feelings for the defiant new boy in their seminary. and only two of those 22 shows have the concept of homophobia exist in them

This website is still here and some of the asks are heartbreaking. Like “Jamie wants a new pair of jeans because he’s never had new clothes before”. Or “Kayla wants a bag with her name on it for when she moves foster homes again.”

A lot of these kids ask for brand name clothing and it sounds pretentious but having one nice new fashionable piece of clothing means a lot when all your previous clothes have come out of black trash bags from charities.

Btw, you can filter wishes based on gender, age, price, etc to help you find the perfect wish for you. This charity is LGBTQ-affirming (unlike a lot of religion-based charities that are unfortunately homophobic), so you can even look for nonbinary kids to donate to.

Also, I would really encourage people to be open to granting wishes made by older foster kids (14+) or young adults who aged out of the system and still lack family support. They’re so often forgotten.

once I did an Americorps position & I won’t get into exact details but two months in my one other coworker & I were rly frustrated bc we weren’t doing anything in our job description or the contract we signed whatsoever & instead we were basically being used as extremely underpaid retail staff and slowly the ppl in charge of us were cornering us more and more into that until I was finally like okay….what the hell? I opened up the work contract I signed and realized I hadn’t done a single thing listed in my role so I sent a long (professionally worded) complaint email to Americorps and they called me an hour later in total outrage because it turned out the work we were being made to do was explicitly prohibited by the program and we were being 100% exploited for cheap labor and the very next day we got a new supervisor and spent the rest of our year doing what we signed up to do and it rocked.

online communities are so strange because people slip away so easily. you can be on here for years, folding people you've never met into the fabric of your daily life, and then they disappear, leaving only ghost posts scattered across tumblr behind. or their blog stays dormant, for weeks, months, years, until you're only still following them because you remember that they love sunflowers or they were kind to you when they didn't have to be or the last thing they posted was sad and raw and you still worry about them sometimes.

and sometimes they come back when you least expect it, years later, even, and there's this sudden rush of relief like there you are, there you are, even though you barely knew each other.

there's a strange kind of love to it. i don't know you and i want to hold your hand across miles and time zones and oceans. i can still see the imprint of you in this community you left. you don't anyone will notice or care when you're gone, but we notice and we care and we wish you well.
