This is a genuine question, why do you think they are together if they’ve said before that they are just friends? Why would they lie about that in the first place?

the only time they’ve ever tried to claim they were JUST friends was in 2012, which was a very stressful time for both of them. they after that, they really haven’t refuted any claims. firstly, they’ve lived together for about 8 years. people don’t HAVE to live together to work together. Joe Sugg and Caspar Lee moved out separately after a few years and they still work together. Is it normal for 2 bros to live together in their early 20’s? absolutely. but dan is almost 27, and phil is 31. whenever they talk about the future, the other person is always involved. when someone asked them if they were getting a dog last year in their first liveshow in this apartment, they said they would get one when a house is bought, and that this current place isn’t a forever home. idk about you but it sounds to me like they have a plan to one day get a forever home together. in their last liveshow, they made sure to tell us that nothing is changing after the tour, probably meaning they don’t have any plans to move out separately any time soon. do i even have to go in to how they act around each other? how much they flirt with each other? how much they touch each other and are just overall completely comfortable with each other? they always go with each other to visit the other’s family. everything is “we” “our” and “us”. all of their possessions are SHARED possessions. it’s pretty damn obvious that they share a room since you know, a lot of phil’s shit is in the moon room (his mirror, his straighteners, his TV set, his shoes) and “phil’s” room is a literal closet and looks more like a set than an actual personal bedroom. honestly i could look back on other videos and dig up a LOT more evidence but i’m literally in class as i write this and think all of this stuff that came to me off of the top of my head is good enough for now. i don’t believe that they’re ever gonna formally come out, but rather that bit by bit they’re letting us in a little more, so we just have to pick up on the clues they’re dropping and put the pieces together ourselves. if they were a male/female duo, no one would question their relationship status at ALL. unfortunately since they’re both male, some of the more heteronormative oriented audience has to be spoon fed the evidence. i hope this answers your question!

im really happy for dan howell and his new video and even though i haven’t been actually into his or phils content in ages i cant deny that they were a huge part of my young teenagehood and im just beside myself seeing him take ownership of something thats been forcibly discussed among his fans since the beginning

so…dan’s hiatus being that long? it makes…a lot of sense

all this time it’s been much more than just “taking a break.” i think dan felt that he could no longer move forward with his content until he addressed that. the clarity of his sexuality has never been important when it came to his previous videos, but he likely felt like it had come to a point where he needed to elaborate on that first before creating content he felt was right, content where he could move forward and discuss topics relating to such a prominent aspect of his story and identity.

dan not feeling ready to come out until now? 100% valid and reasonable. that’s why he kept saying he’d upload “when he’s ready” and “perhaps soon, not sure when” and that he was “taking his time.”

But you know what I love?

Dan wanted to come out in a 45 minute video with a bang. During pride month. He wanted to make a statement, tell his truth, so he did. Brilliantly. And he’s #1 on trending, both on youtube and twitter, people are talking about him and sending him support, it’s public and inspiring and beautiful in a lot of ways.

Phil wanted to come out in a way that no one would talk about it. So he did. He is out, he is supporting his boyfriend, but he’s not trending, he’s not being featured in articles, he’s not plastered across the entire internet. And it’s also beautiful.

And they did it, they planned it and made the video and did it together so that they can both have the coming out they want. And honestly, that is just beyond beautiful.

not to be a phillie in such dannie times and i can’t exactly put into the words right now. like. i just can’t form the right sentence but. phil trusts dan so much that he gave dan the freedom to talk about both their sexualities. phil’s own sexuality was in dan’s hand to talk about to the world for that portion of the video and phil just allowed him to have that. because for dan to tell his story he’d have to tell a bit about of phil’s too and phil trusted him to do that. this is just so precious and important. i love them so much
